On November 20, special forces of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out a security operation against pro-government operatives.
In the course of the operation, which took place in the western al-Hasakah countryside, four suspects were arrested by the SDF.
The operation was carried out by the SDF’s elite HAT special weapons and tactics unit. The U.S.-led coalition trained and equipped the special unit, supposedly to counter ISIS.
SDF forces seized two AK-type assault rifles, a hand gun, a hand grenade as well as documents and publications issued by Damascus.

The SDF claims that operatives working for the Syrian intelligence were responsible for a number of attacks on its troops and locals. The attacks were allegedly meant to provoke unrest in the SDF-held part of northeastern Syria.
Pro-government operatives are indeed carrying attacks in northeastern Syria. On September 27, Layalwa al-Abdullah, a spokesman for the SDF’s Deir Ezzor Military Council survived an attack by the pro-government Popular Resistance in the Eastern Region.
Nevertheless, there is no solid evidence linking the Syrian intelligence to these groups, which appears to be motivated by Pan-Arabism ideology.

What do you want to call yourselves besides the YPG?’ With about a day’s notice they declared that they are the Syrian Democratic Forces. I thought it was a stroke of brilliance to put democracy in there somewhere. But it gave them a little bit of credibility.

You forgot to include Assad’s daddy! He got pissed off at Turkey for reducing the water flow into the Euphrates River so allowed the PKK to set up bases in NE Syria from where they launched attacks on the dam projects inside Turkey.
US also done such things in Afghanistan with Taliban, Iran with MEKs, Iraq with Kurds/Daesh. Turkey with Wahhabi Sunnis in Iraq-Syria-Libya etc etc. Countries use “terrorists” when they can’t get what they want, making false flags or whatever, and ofc not just US/Turkey/Syria use terrorists as weapon. But what I’m “pissed” about is why SF don’t say SDF are part of YPG/PKK. For some time now (2 years) a lot of “reporters/youtubers” are on a mission to steal Syrian/Iraqi lands in media, showing maps where Kurds are in Syria/Iraq and changing PKK/YPG image. SF 24/7 say how FSA part of terrorists groups…yet they don’t say it to SDF.
