The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) destroyed on August 17 a large warehouse, where militants stored hundreds of used tires they usually use to create smoke over the battlefield.
Step News, an Idlib-based news outlet, released a video showing a Syrian Su-24MK conducting a pinpoint airstrike on the warehouse, which is located in a suburb of the town of Ma`arat al-Nu`man in southern Idlib.
Militants usually burn used tires along the frontlines with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in order to obscure their positions and equipment from Syrian and Russian warplanes. This technique was used on a large-scale for the first time during the final battle of Aleppo in late 2016.
The Syrian airstrike reveals that the militants continue to stockpile their equipment in urban areas with no regards what so ever to the civilians living there.
