In Video: Syrian Army Artillery Pounds Terrorists’ Fortifications In Northern Lattakia

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) artillery shelled on November 22 positions and fortifications of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies in northern Lattakia.

Iba’a, the news network of HTS, released a video showing the SAA’s intense shelling, which was focused on the vicinity of the key town of Kabani.

Attack helicopters of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) also carried out a series of airstrikes on terrorists’ positions in the region.

Kabani and its surroundings are controlled by HTS and its allies, the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL), the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) and Ajnad al-Kavkaz (AK).

In the last few weeks, the SAA made several attempts to advance around Kabani. However, the terrorists managed to hold onto their positions thanks to a series of fortifications they built during the recent ceasefire agreements.

As an observer I must securing latakia is a must for the Russians but after so may attempts is time to try different front line to push in,i would keep pounding all the front lines and non-Stop and try my best to redeploy the spear front force somewhere else that’s is less fortifies by nature’s and stike there …With this move they will seek to attack the borderline of latakia to force an engagement but they will be concerned a of they other front line being collapse.

In my.scenario that i proposed a while back, saa would.come from the east and push the militants towards the mountains, using the mountains as an anvil.

It could work initially but i fear having more militants trapped in the mountains may be worst that what we have now.

If Kobani could be liberated, SAA would have the high ground over jisr al shugr, wich would be beneficial to SAA and extremely bad for HTS and friends, thats why they are resititing with all they got, hiding in their bunkers suppied happily by Lafarge.

Imo they have to besiege Kabani and like you said should bomb them non-stop. Russia should also use its advanced weapons to track their bunkers and tunnels, but the SAA also has to launch an attack on a different axis in Idlib, maybe the Southeast or Southern Idlib, so the terrorists have to redeploy many fighters from other areas. When all of this happens simultaneously, the SAA has a chance to liberate Kabani, but not with tactic the have now: Always launching attacks on the best defended part of Idlib and sending their soldiers to a safe death.

“However, the terrorists managed to hold onto their positions thanks to a series of fortifications they built during the recent ceasefire agreements.” Syrian army didn’t make any ceasefire agreements with Turkish terrorists. Those agreements were made by Russia. If Putin wishes to create any safe zones for terrorists, he should create them inside Russian mainland

BREAKING NEWS almasdar NEWS Home Syria Syria may replace Russia’s S-300 with China’s HQ-9: report Syria Syria may replace Russia’s S-300 with China’s HQ-9: report By News Desk – 2019-11-22 1

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – Syria may replace the Russian-made S-300 air defense system with the Chinese-made HQ-9, the Russian publication Avia.Pro reported on Friday. “A number of Syrian sources report that Syria has begun negotiations with China regarding the purchase of the Chinese H-9 air defense systems (according to other sources – HQ-22) instead of the Russian S-300 system, which so far has shown zero effectiveness in repelling Israeli attacks,” the publication reported.

“The source indicates the fact that at the moment the negotiations concern the gratuitous supply of Chinese air defense systems to Syria, however, at the same time, the acquisition of these anti-aircraft missile systems was not excluded. The reason for the negotiations is the impossibility of using the Russian S-300, since the latter is controlled by the Russian military, however, there are other reasons, in particular, Damascus intends to deploy Chinese HQ-9 throughout Syria, thereby completely covering the airspace above the territory of the country,” they added. Syria has yet to comment on these claims; however, if true, this could be a boost for the Syrian air defenses, as they already have the Russian-made S-300 system.
