On December 27, Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops intercepted another convoy of the US-led coalition that attempted to pass near the town of Tell Tamer in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah.
“A checkpoint of the Syrian Arab Army intercepted four armored vehicles of the American occupation while they were passing through the Shweish farm near the town of Tell Tamer … forcing them to retreat and leave the area,” a local source told the reporter of the stat-run Syrian Arab News Agency in al-Hasakah.
Tell Tamer is located right on the strategic M4 highway, which links al-Hasakah with both Raqqa and Aleppo to the west.

In the last few weeks, the SAA and government supporters intercepted many convoys of the US-led coalition in the northern and eastern countryside of al-Hasakah.
- On December 14, SAA troops intercepted a US-led coalition convoy on Tell al-Dahab checkpoint.
- On December 16, government supporters intercepted a US-led coalition convoy near the town of al-Damkhyah.
- On December 17, SAA troops and government supporters intercepted two US-led coalition convoys near the villages of Tell al-Dahab and al-Salihiyah.
- On December 18, SAA troops intercepted a US-led coalition convoy near Tell Tamer.
- On December 20, SAA troops intercepted a US-led coalition convoy near Tell al-Dahab.
- On December 23, SAA troops and government supporters intercepted two US-led coalition convoys on a checkpoint in the town of Khuaylid and near the town of As-Salamu Alaykum.
The SAA and government supporters are apparently attempting to restrict the movement of US-led coalition forces in the countryside of al-Hasakah.
Over the past year, the US-led coalition expanded its presence in al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor, especially in key oil and gas fields, under the pretext of fighting ISIS.
