In Video: Turkish-Backed Militants Shell Army Positions In Southeastern Idlib

Support SouthFront

The National Front for Liberation (NFL) shelled on November 8 several positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the southeastern Idlib countryside with artillery and rocket launchers.

The Turkish-backed faction released a drone video of the shelling, which targeted the town of Umm al-Halaheel. The shelling was not apparently accurate or effective.

Earlier, NFL militants destroyed an artillery piece of the SAA in the southern Idlib countryside with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM),

The NFL merged with the National Army (SNA) last October. The step was supported and even reportedly orchestrated by Turkey, which is the main backer of both factions.

NFL militants are currently participating in the Turkish attack on Kurdish forces in northeast Syria under the banner of the SNA.

The Turkish-backed faction’s attacks against the SAA in Greater Idlib violate the ceasefire agreement in the region and raise serious concerns regarding Ankara’s support to these actions.
