So “Al-Qaeda’s official army” cooperates with al-Qaeda terrorist soldiers in building fortified positions in a city that they have illegally occupied in Syria, a legitimate country and recognized by the United Nations, with the aim of being able to stop the Syria’s legitimate army from reclaiming that city, a city that has clearly been located on Syrian land and is officially owned by Syria since a few centuries ago?

They quickly became British and French colonial subjects and in the fullness of time the Palestinians suffered the catastrophe, the Saudi’s have been ruled by a kleptocracy who loves and plays in the West while the Saudi people atrophy, Iraq has been in chaos decade after decade and suffered an American invasion that killed a million people, Lebanon suffered years of Israeli occupation and bullying and Syria, it’s people not having learned a lesson the first time, had millions of people goaded into rising up in armed struggle against it’s relatively benign state and have suffered so much that a popular saying inside Syria today is “even the rocks cry for us.” There is not a country in the region where the people have made strides like Turkey’s, or has a government able to stand up to outsiders. When the people betrayed the Ottoman Empire and joined Lawrence and his invading British Army they set themselves and all the way to their great grandchildren up for nothing but suffering and humiliation. Not that Turkey’s current actions in the region are just or helpful, but there is a another side to this story and Turkey’s actions are following a trail that makes perfect sense to them.

The Turklers are an extremely dangerous adversary to have next door, whether one supports Turkler neo-Ottoman hegemony or not, it must be realized and respected simply out of necessity.
Turkler armed forces arent battle-hardened like first echelon Syrian units like 25th and 4th division, but they are fresh and numerous. SAA has enough enemies to contend with. Hopefully there will arise no casus belli for Turklers to become even more deeply involved beyond setting up some nuisance posts.
