It’s clear the Russian Military is upping its game on terminating the remaining Ukrainian air defense systems. The fact they posed trouble in the first place goes to show how formidable Soviet/Russian air defenses are, even the older generations. Serbia for instance had not even 10% of the amount of soviet air defense Ukraine currently has, yet put up a valiant fight against the combined NATO airpower of dozens of countries and 1000 fighter jets in 3 months, inflicting 3 shoot-downs against 4th and 5th gen stealth aircraft, not to mention almost 100 UAV such as the MQ-1. Meanwhile Ukraine operates huge amounts of SA-11, SA-6, SA-3, SA-8 and 250+ S-300PT/PS, 1 new S-300PMU from Slovakia, and even the very advanced anti-ballistic system S-300V1. Compare that to Serbia in 1999, it’s like comparing an army to a platoon. If roles were reversed and NATO was fighting Ukraine, they would have a very hard time establishing air superiority as well. Lots of the invisible planes would be shot down, it would be a major challenge, they’d achieve it sooner since they have the numbers however. But there are so many uneducated, ignorant takes complaining and mocking Russia’s SEAD performance when they are using a limited contingent of aircraft to hunt Ukraine’s massive Soviet air defense network, especially when they can keep their radars turned off, and then turn them on when NATO recon assets alert them to Russian aircraft in the sky. Who are the moderators on this site? Why are my polite and pro-Russian comments being deleted?
