Russians are merciful to foreigners in need of help, and they are not cruel to brothers or the unfortunate. They are not merciful to invaders. Some of the French army was taken captive or spared, that was the exception, most were killed without mercy. The Germans were treated the same when they came next century. Russians are without mercy in defense of the rodina. None of the Nazis who attack into Bryansk, Saratov, Pskov, or Crimea make it out alive, they are given no quarter and killed to the last, surrenders not accepted. They are attacking the homeland and receive the appropriate treatment.
