Inter-Militant Clashes In Jarabulus Trigger Protests Against Free Syrian Army

Support SouthFront

On June 1, hundreds of civilians took at streets in the northern city of Jarabulus to protest against the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups in the city, according to the Syrian pro-opposition news outlet Enab Baladi. The protestors reportedly demanded the withdrawal of the FSA from the city after it had caused a series of security incidents and clashes.

A day earlier, three civilians were killed and dozens other were injured in Jarabulus as a result of clashes between the Ahrar al-Sham Movement on one side, and other Turkish-backed groups – the Northern Brigade, Ahrar al-Sharqiyah and the Sultan Murad Division – on the other side.

Such incidents were not limited to Jarabulus, the nearby city of al-Baba witnessed similar clashes among Turkish-backed groups on May 6 and 26. According to Syrian opposition activists, many civilians were killed and injured in these clashes.

Despite of these incidents, the Turkish Army counties to allow its proxies to move freely with their weapons within the civilian areas. Moreover, the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Police (FSP) appears to be unwilling or unable to deal with such incidents.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

This is supposed to be one of the most pro Turkish areas of Syria and they’re protesting against the FSA what a joke. Maybe they’re missing the peace and security they used have under Assad’s governance, before they kicked him out and invited Erdogan in that is.
