On March 26, a convoy moving logistic supplies for the United States-led coalition came under attack in the southern Iraqi province of Babylon.
The supply convoy was reportedly targeted with an improvised explosive device. No casualties were reported as a result of the attack.
An armed group known as the International Resistance claimed responsibility for the attack. The shadowy group is one of several pro-Iran formations that emerged in Iraq after the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, and Commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qassim Soleimani, by the U.S. more than three years ago.
In a statement, the group said that the supply convoy was “damaged” as a result of the attack, without providing further details.
This was the eighth of the U.S.-led coalition to come under attack in Iraq this year. The International Resistance was behind six of the previous attacks.
The attack came following a heated confrontation between Iranian-backed forces and the U.S.-led coalition in neighboring Syria. The confrontation broke out on March 23 when a pro-Iran Iraqi armed group attacked a coalition base near the city of al-Hasakah with a suicide drone. A U.S. contractor and at least seven Iranian-backed fighters were killed during the confrontation.
The recent attacks in Syria and Iraq were all a part of a covert military campaign by Iran and its allies that is meant to expel the U.S. from both countries.
This is unprecedented in the entire mankind’s history. Someone is shooting after an exceptional American.
What do you talking about?
About time. Harsh words have zero effect on the US.
1- why USA are still in Irak?
2- why USA are also in Syria?
