Iran’s President has accused Saudi Arabia of strengthening ISIS and orchestrating hostilities in Yemen.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani responded to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who accused his nation of ‘direct military aggression’ by supplying militias in Yemen with rockets.
The Iranian leader said that Saudi Arabia’s hostility towards Yemen was playing into the hands of ISIS: “Why are you showing hostility towards the people of Syria and Iraq? Why are you strengthening ISIS and leaving the peoples of the region with them? Why are you interfering with Lebanon’s internal affairs and governance?”
This political standoff revolves around two incidents: the missiles and the resignation of Lebanon’s prime minister.
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri resigned on November 4 during a trip to Saudi Arabia, saying his life was in danger. He claimed that Iran controlled the region. Iran dismissed the notion, accusing the United States and Saudi Arabia of orchestrating the resignation.
Rouhani told his cabinet on Wednesday: ‘There is no case in history that a country forces another one’s authority to resign only to interfere with their internal affairs. This is an unprecedented event in history. Where are you going in this way?,’ according to The Guardian.
His comments came after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman accused Iran of delivering missiles to Yemen rebels for use against the kingdom that he described as “direct military aggression”, with the latest missile being shut down near Riyadh on the same day the Lebanese Prime Minister resigned.
Iran strongly denied supplying any missiles to the rebels saying that it would have been impossible to do so in any case in the face of a Saudi-led air and sea blockade.
The United States accused Iran on November 7 of supplying Yemen’s Houthi rebels with a missile that was fired into Saudi Arabia in July. US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that by providing weapons to the Houthi rebels, Iran had violated two UN resolutions on Yemen and Iran. She said a missile shot down over Saudi Arabia on November 4 “may also be of Iranian origin.”

Owww. Now I finally understand what you mean. Yes, the US fought some of Iranians’ enemies, the ones the US created in the first place. We are grateful that the US took care of Taliban (so much for taking care, they control almost half of Afghanistan) and Saddam, which led to the great cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
That’s it. But if you’re talking about ISIS, perhaps you’ll find out the truth in, let’s say, 15 years or so?
I must confess. I really wish that I lived in the world that you described: A world that the US, NATO, Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, Turkey and Israel not only didn’t arm and support the terror groups, but actively fought them in cooperation with Iran, Russia, Syria, Iraq and Hezbollah and actually CONTRIBUTED to the world’s peace and stability, not creating war, death and chaos. I truly wish that. Alas, whenever I wake up it’s gone.
Ahh Garga, the fat lady has not yet sung her swan song, and there is plenty of time left to have it just the way You want, just keep dreaming your dream, and remember to always have it work out the way you want before you open your eyes… Tricks of the trade son, Tricks of the trade.
ISISraeli weapons were found in Daeshi hands in Iraq and Ziodi Arabia offered ISISrael its airspace to bomb Iran in 2015. Considering ISISrael is officially an “enemy” of GCC states and doesn’t officially trade with them, that is very telling.
Strengtheing Daesh is a “Coalition” effort, not just the Saudis.
Being Saudi Arabia is the ‘home’ of the wahhabist fundamentalist movement, I’d say ISIS was supported, at least philosophically.
