Iran claims that the recent show of force by the United States, which included flights by strategic bombers and deployment of aircraft carriers, demonstrate that Washington is fearful of the Iranian military might.
“Flights by two American B-52 bombers over the region and their return [to their home bases] does not bear considerable operational value,” Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri said on January 18.
“The set of actions which they [the US] have called a display of power, indicates that they are fearful and in awe of the Islamic Republic’s defensive might,” Baqeri said.
Meanwhile, Iran continued showcasing its own forces by conducting large-scale drills in the region of the Persian Gulf.
On January 19, the Iranian Army’s Ground Force launched a new drill codenamed Eqtedar (Strength) 99, The drill is taking place on the southeastern Makran coast. The drill includes airborne brigades, special forces and rapid reaction units, which are being supported by the Army’s Air Force and Aviation Unit.

I wonder how much each one of those round trips cost us including wear and tear on the bombers. Once a year, you could argue is a normal maintenance flight but 10 times is a pointless demonstration of aggression.

Iran carries out first ever large airborne offensive maneuver on the Makran Coast
The Artesh high command noted, as reported by Al-Mayadeen TV, that the 55th Airborne Brigade of the Army Land Force, in the first phase of the exercises, carried out airborne operations via parachute and air dropped BMP2 personnel carriers.
“The Airborne Forces landed in the form of hundreds of special forces paratroopers, carried by over 50 C-130 army aircraft, at the specified locations during a pre-planned operation,” he explained, stating that the “landing weapons and military equipment, included Misagh 2 manpads, Dehalveih ATGM, motorcycles and 107 caliber rocket launchers. and 23mm rapid fire cannons.”

Frankly, US is being more silly than usual, it has growing problems at home and half a million old and poor Americans have been left to die in the streets, the budget deficit is over $30 trillion now and they are trying to impress Iran with antiquated 60 year old B-52 junk slow aircraft that the Vietnamese easily shot down with rifles. Who are they kidding?

B-52 is post WW2 era subsonic cumbersome outdated plane with metal fatigue and more of a danger to the pilots than to Iran, Russia or China. Dozens of B-52 shot down by the NVA are littered all over Vietnam.
