Iranian scientists have produced the first batch of 60% enriched uranium, Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, announced on April 16.
“I am proud to announce that at 00:40 last night … young and pious Iranian scientists were able to obtain a 60% enriched uranium product,” Qalibaf wrote in a Persian tweet on Friday. “We congratulate the brave people of the Islamic Iran on this success; the will of the Iranian people is miraculous and will thwart any conspiracy.”
Earlier this week, Iran informed the International Atomic Energy Agency that it will start 60% uranium enrichment at the Natanz fuel enrichment plant (FEP). 1,000 advanced centrifuge machines were installed in the plant under the plan.
The Iranian step was a response to an act of sabotage that targeted the Natanz FEP on April 11. Israel was reportedly behind the incident. The incident was widely seen as an attempt to hinder the ongoing talks between Iran and the US in Vienna.
60% uranium is used to make a variety of radiopharmaceuticals. A day earlier, President Hassan Rouhani stressed, yet again, that Iran is not looking for a nuclear bomb. The president noted that Iran could enrich uranium to 90% if it chose to.
The new Iranian move will place more pressure on the US, which is still hesitant to return to the 2015 nuclear deal and left the sanctions imposed during the Trump administration off Iran.

That is what NK has been doing for so long like show piece facilities in Youngbyun and the state of the art nuke facilities deep under the ground. Once it reaches 100 percent, Iran will become an official member of nuclear powers and all this BS will gone for good. What Iran needs to do after that is to launch an ICBM with a range of at least 10000 km.
