Iran Seized Another Tanker In Persian Gulf

Support SouthFront

UPDATE: The detained tanker was identified as “Topazis”.

***

Iran has seized another oil tanker in the Persian Gulf saying that the ship was smuggling fuel to some Arab countries.

A commander with Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Ramezan Zirahi, told Fars news agency on August 4 that forces of the IRGC’s Naval District 2 had seized the ship near the Persian Gulf island of Farsi on July 31.

“The foreign vessel was receiving fuel from other ships and was transferring it to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf,” he said, without naming states. “700,000 liters of fuel have been seized and seven sailors, from different nationalities, have been detained.”

On July 14, the IRGC seized the Panamanian-flagged Riah tanker claiming that it was smuggling one million liters of Iranian fuel south of Larak Island in the Persian Gulf.

On June 19, the IRGC detained the 30,000-tonne UK-flagged Stena Impero tanker as it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz en route to Saudi Arabia. It was detained “for failing to respect international maritime rules.”

Iran is cracking down on ISIS oil money

Feudalism Victory

What through Iraq? Where did the other ship come from?

Toronto Tonto

Moscow red square maidan coming real soon folks .

grumpy_carpenter

Keep us posted and write a report.

Feudalism Victory

Yes Hong kong Moscow nothing in China proper yet.

Still though old tricks wont keep working. At least they gave up calling it a colour revolution.

JustPassingThrough

????

Bob

So, what’s the exact time-table on that?

RedSquareMaidan

It doesn’t matter. Evil will eventually be answered by justice.

Bob

Nah, your delusional fantasies will remain just that.

RedSquareMaidan

That’s ok, meanwhile we are living in a beautiful country with roads, food, education, travel, freedom and real elections. You Moskali……squalor, misery, debt, food shortages, bad roads, no elections, no freedoms, and a government that correctly thinks you’re all sheep….congratulations RTroll~!

Earl J. Sharp

The strategic situation in the Persian Gulf is beginning to jell as It becomes more and more apparent that Iran, not only has a choke hold on the Sunni Arab oil states, but she also holds Wall Street hostage as events threaten to close the Straights of Hormuz.

Lupus

Yeah great isnt it

Tommy Jensen

Iran is holding the world in an iron grip. Only the US^Nato Inherent Resolve Freedom Coalition can set us free.

AJ

Who sets us free from the US empire warmongering!

occupybacon

Even if US bomb Iran, they still can’t protect Hormuz since the missiles and drones are easily to make and cheaper compared to 10 years ago, it’s a 80 million nation, they could buy tens of thousands cheap missiles from China and Russia and shot at the strait every day. USA and Russia will profit but EU, China, Japan economies will suffer a lot.

grumpy_carpenter

You nailed it. A shooting war is out of the question. Trump is gambling that the Iranians will fold under economic pressure. They won’t.

What you get wrong though is that Iran doesn’t need to buy missiles from anyone. They make them themselves. Americans tend to believe Iranians are Arabs like the Saudi’s …. they’re Persian. BIG difference. I’m sure they get advise and intel from Russia and China but they are smart, very good engineers and have an industrial base capable of turning out modern weapons.

They’ve been expecting this war since the ’91 Gulf war. They’ve watched the USA fight 5 campaigns since and have a force structured on causing the maximum amount of pain to the USA …. both economic and military …. if they ever decide to attack.

Bob

US planners are well aware if they seriously bomb Iran they will likely be subject to range of asymmetrical attacks on US bases across mid-east – Iraq, Jordan etc. Just as NATO and Gulf States have spent a decade marshaling the Sunni cause to recruit regional Sunni militants to attack Syria, in the event of assault on Iran, Iran can marshal regional Shia militants to engage in asymmetrical militant actions in response. Starting this cycle of violence would be a political clusterf*ck for any US President – as US serviceman would not be safe across region, for unspecified time-frame, with unpredictable outcomes. The political lessons and impact of US Marine losses, to Shia militants, in Lebanon in 1983 are not lost on US planners.

occupybacon

I know they now have the technology…what I’m trying to underline is that the globalization is a threat to US and even more to Israel, by making small weapons cheaper and better than it was expected. And even if Iran wouldn’t need China to make drones, breaking ME into smaller factions that will fight each other would still bring the cheap toys from China and Russia in the region and endanger US bases and the small Israel

grumpy_carpenter

First off the missiles fielded by China and Russia are anything but ‘cheap toys’

The USA doesn’t even field a supersonic cruise missile let alone hypersonic weapons while even the Iranians are building supersonic anti-shipping missiles and the Chinese and Russians have both deployed hypersonic weapons that the USA claimed a few years ago to be impossible.

The missiles that Hezboulla are fielding in Syria and lebanon are Iranian. The missiles the Yemeni’s and Houti’s are pummelling the Saudi’s with are Iranian designs they assemble themselves

Tony B.

Why don’t you stop this nonsense. It’s not funny and is often counter productive as some people take it literally. You are doing a mis-service to what you appear to believe with a poor attempt at satire.

SIM

good luck, remember to release Grace 1 as you proceed to Hormuz

Lupus

Cool! VIVA Iran!

AJ

Believe it or not there is crime in Iran & oil smuggling is very profitable.

JustPassingThrough

??

Tommy Jensen

Iran seizing a Panama ship with Iran oil export close to Iran coast??

occupybacon

Not oil, fuel. It’s state subsidized for their own population only, they don’t allow others to buy their fuel since would be a steal.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

by 2030 China’s navy will be patrolling the area

occupybacon

With fishing vessels after they eat everything from South China Sea. In 2030 oil will not be as important as today.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

one belt road. requires military ‘protection’ from sanctions/blocakdes etc. Syrian oil is getting stolen.

occupybacon

Could be, why not? However China will never interfere with NATO vessels. Don’t forget in Yemen they are officially on KSA side.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

they are also allies with Iran. its called diplomacy

occupybacon

Hahaha yesterday it was called ‘protection’ now it’s called ‘diplomacy’

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

started talking about stolen syrian oil, then you’re talking about talking about yemen.

occupybacon

What if China vessels will patrol the area of Hormuz? I don’t see the problem with that

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

One belt road initiative will give the world consumer choice. rather than just pax americana

occupybacon

Second funny shit I have read this week. 90% of what I have is made in China. The ‘world consumer’ will rather have a choice without China.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

USA military industrial complex is just one big oil guzzling machine that wobbles around the world fucking a lot of shit up.

One belt road initiative provides more balance. including liquidity for economics

occupybacon

more liquidity for economics from china in order to buy more chinese stuff, nahh. fuck it. I want to be able to chose between a Turkish carpet and an Iranian carpet or between a local made sport shoes and original ones not made in China… as a simple consumer I’m tired of ‘made in China’ and I don’t give a shit on USA military complex since I don’t pay taxes there

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

more liquidity to protect against aggressive american economic sanctions… obviously.

occupybacon

obviously becoming a slave in greater china would totally worth it

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

one belt road initiative is coming from all brics countries, as is liquidity from the New Development bank. Cheap stuff from china only gets sold in the west because high tariffs mean lesser quality goods

occupybacon

” Cheap stuff from china only gets sold in the west because high tariffs mean lesser quality goods” LOL what a Nonsense!

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

in EU tariffs on EU imports from china is extortionate, cheaper materials means it dont cut into profits too much

occupybacon

Learn some English and logic

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

do you understand the concept of shipping lanes and trade routes? you are missing every point i make entirely, either by being deliberately ignorant , or you are that stupid, either way you are wasting my time

Tudor Miron

That’s according to “global predictor’s” plan but lately their plans are failing more often than not.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

predictors say 2035 china’s navy will be bigger than USA’s one belt road initiative to progress and move forward

Tudor Miron

Most likely that will come true. Same powers that created US and assigned it to role of world policeman are transfering center of power concentration from US to China. US country level elites are trying to fight it but its a no win game for them.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

ironically usa could join the one belt road initiative but chooses to continue with its old trade routes where it used to have monopolies

1691

Are you saying that China is “ruled” by the zio-mafia?

Tudor Miron

Things are not that simple but you should observe the nature of China’s economical growth. In essense it was imported – production, technologies, money etc., etc. If you go through Piakin’s “question/answer” video’s of last couple of years – he’s talks a lot about it.

1691

Cposibo!

Rob

Well done Iran.

Ronald

In the mean time, El Paso has a re-make of Christchurch killings. Another nutbar with an “declaration”.

Ed

Who gives a fuck. It’s just another ‘mass shooting’ in a country that is too fucking dumb to do anything about it. Instead they hold hands, hug each other, hold candles and start hashtag campaigns in the pathetically vain hope that it will change the situation.

bla

well said,I agree 100%

Mo

We give a fuck so should you every time some one is killed. After all if “the right to “bear arms” in America is modified, those who you hate will take total control over American government. If you dont care about people dying here, care bout yourself!

Horatio Mud-Gudgeon

Wake up Mo, NSA Fucknuckles with guns are a asset to any invading foreign force. So you think USA is protected by a bunch of hillbillies one third of which dont know how to properly clean and maintain their sub standard weapons the other third whom shoot cows thinking they have just killed a communist from latin America. If the USA professional military ever have to protect USA against a violent invasion, the first and most dangerous obstacle they must clear out is their own fuckknuckles from the NSA. AND BY THE WAY you are too late! you already lost your nation to the bankers and financial pasrasites, just like the rest of us.

Ishyrion Av

It seems the guy conveniently died in the police custody. Like all the mass shooters, all dead no questions asked. Just the MSM version.

Monte George Jr

Remove the Intel community’s license for unlimited secrecy in their ops, and these Manchurian Candidate killings will come to a screeching halt. Else, this crap will continue until we surrender our 2nd Amendment.

Tony B.

You believe too much media bullshit. In these U.S. “mass shootings” that are promoted to high heaven, no bodies are ever shown because none exist. It’s always total bullshit and most Americans no longer pay any attention to the media lies. There have been so many factual proofs that no such thing ever happened it just brings a yawn now.

Ronald

I never said I believe the story, agree it’s a “manufactured incident”, almost a duplicate of Christchurch. All aimed at making anyone who is White a “White Supremacist”, and creating a reason to take guns away from Americans.

verner

used to be the case in nigeria – after loading the 1mb cargo the captain would be offered to take say 10′ tonnes of fuel oil and no bill of lading to sell in the Med, ship to ship transfer, to designated receivers. it was a risky business and no doubt attracted interest from say, a certain kind of greek shipowners.

Well Done Iran, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, its the only way to stop the bully.

goingbrokes

These ship to ship transfers sound very dodgy, and almost certainly form part of the mechanism how ISIS managed to sell oil to the markets. Good on Iran for keeping an eye on them.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

ISIS apparently is defeated, its USA/SDF stealing oil

goingbrokes

At present, yes. I was talking about the past. But surely they are using exactly the same method.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

over land into turkey was stopped, they did that for about 3 yrs i think… :/ isis just melted into the ranks of the SDF. they are still terrorists in the alphabet soup that is armed, funded, trained by the USA. same actors, different methods. hopefully Iran is stopping it.

i think russia and china may help out with loans for venezuela to set up oil refining and mining projects , wonder how far away the one belt road is from there?
