Just one year after a US drone strike killed the prominent commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian military has vowed to turn US aircraft carriers in to “sinking submarines” if it’s needed.
“Iran is capable of turning US aircraft carriers into submarines in a few hours,” Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the top military adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, stated.
“We will never initiate a war, but we will respond decisively and with our utmost power and readiness if anyone attacks Iran,” he said.
The Iranian official made these remarks as Iran was marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a US drone raid in Baghdad on January 3, 2020.

iran is far tougher nut to crack than Vietnam, iraq or Afghanistan. It’s mountainous like North Korea and has a population the size of Germany. Think Chosin Reservoir only the enemy is expecting you and has had 40 years to dig in and can strike to a depth of 3000 km with ballistic missiles.

Having said that, a U.S. carrier is reasonably safe in the Arabian Sea but I never understood our obsession in sticking it in the Persian Gulf. Despite what my betters say, I believe Iran can sink our carriers in the Gulf. I have no idea why we would put our carriers in a body of water that neutralizes most of their advantages. Kind of like Pearl Harbor but having our carriers actually in the harbor instead of the Pacific Ocean.
Aircraft carriers are the twenty first century versions of the outdated Pearl Harbour battleships that were the bait for Japanese attacks.
In the current century accurate long range missiles are increasingly available to any entity with sufficient money to buy them.
US Carriers are floating coffins for literally thousands of US sailors. Are we about to see another Gulf of Tonkin false flag, or another covert USS Liberty type attack by Israel? If the top brass on a carrier suddenly have a ‘very important meeting’ on land it’s time for the crew to jump ship as well :)
I believe Pearl Harbor was a false flag. US politicians wanted to enter the war by all means, and to do this they were willing to sacrifice as many American lives as necessary. Probably they are planning the same here.
