On June 9th, Iran’s judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili announced that Tehran would carry out the execution an Iranian citizen, who allegedly provided the CIA with information about the whereabouts of Major General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike on January 3rd.
“Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd, one of the spies for CIA and [the Israeli intelligence service] Mossad has been sentenced to death. He gave the whereabouts of martyr [Qasem] Soleimani to our enemies”, Gholamhossein Esmaili told a televised news conference.
“He passed on security information to the Israeli and American intelligence agencies about Iran’s armed forces, particularly the Guards. He was sentenced to death by a revolutionary court and a supreme court has upheld his death sentence. He will be executed soon.”
The Iranian Students News Agency reported Esmaili as saying that Mousavi-Majd had been paid in US dollars for his information.
Officials have not said whether Mousavi-Majd’s case is linked to Iran’s announcement in February that a man had been sentenced to death for spying for the CIA and attempting to pass on information about Tehran’s nuclear programme.
According a report published in March by Newsweek, the operation to kill Soleimani was so secret that only a few individuals knew of it.
According to unnamed sources, Soleimani’s assassination was carried out in such secrecy that even the US military’s own spy satellites, the so-called “national technical means” (NTM), did not know about the drone’s position.
One of the sources claimed that there was “no GPS track on the MQ-9 Reaper as it made its way toward Baghdad International Airport, nor was there any indication of its flight provided to radar systems tasked with identifying friendly aircraft”.
Tehran announced in December it had arrested eight people “linked to the CIA” and involved in nationwide street protests that erupted the previous month over a surprise petrol price hike.
It also said in July 2019 that it had dismantled a CIA spy ring, arresting 17 suspects between March 2018 and March 2019 and sentencing some of them to death.
The January 3 strike that killed Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad also killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iran-backed militias in Iraq known as the Popular Mobilisation Forces, and five others, including the militias’ airport protocol officer, Mohammed Reda.
MORE ON THE TOPIC:
I hope they don’t; there’s no excuse to behave like Americans.
They don’t what? Execute a traitor? What else are they supposed to do with him lmao?
i would not trust the Iranian judicial organs to deliver an objective verdict
And on what is your mistrust based? US anti-Iran propaganda?
you mean you don’t have a brain of your own so you operate on pro iran propaganda?
I’d trust Iran’s justice system over the West’s anytime. US in particular.
You don’t have to.
Shut the fuck up queer.
No excuse? Really? I’m pretty sure american govt would have no problem doing the same if the situation was reversed, they would probably enjoy it
Have you missed the point? The American state is run by fucking savages who practice ritual murder. Civilised people know that they’re civilised because they don’t behave like that.
Yes, murder of innocent people who most of the time did nothing wrong, but this guy, why should he be left to live?
Because killing people is wrong; not killing people is how we know we aren’t fucking savages.
U are very naive my friend in this regard
No, civilised, the opposite of a fucking savage.
No, civilised
naive
Lol , their joker army(IRGC) was exposed as they couldnt retaliate to Soleimanis assassination. Also Israel conducts daily strikes on them in syria, but the only thing they are able to do is talk :D
They did retaliate though, did you forget the missile strikes on US bases in Iraq which according to accounts left over 100 troops with brain injuries!!
Lol, thats what happens when you rely on Chinese weapons. You never know which one is effective and which one isnt
These were Irans own missiles not Chinese, the strikes were meant as a warning hence the limited damage.
Also, there’s the aircraft in Afghanistan the Taliban shot down. Reportedly at Iran’s request. Iran made it clear it wasn’t done with US yet on this issue.
Why don’t you go test Iran’s military, as if you’re some kind of expert. Trolls are not experts, they’re parrots of others statements. You have no thoughts of your own.
Faggot, we will terminate you.
Iranians might be getting setup by foreign Intel agencies, I get that emotions are running hot but Iran is very trigger happy on executions.
sure but so is the disjointed states of A with the preference for blacks whereas Iran is more after the odd jew spy.
I’m against the death penalty in the U.S. because I do not trust the state in being able to administer it correctly.
I’m against the death penalty on principal. There’s no evidence Iran is abusing it’s authority on death penalty cases. As the Headcutters do.
How do you know this ? Did Iran execute you ?
Traitors should die.
The Mullahs regime is highly trained in the killing of its citizens. Iran is second only to China in the number of executions.
Saudi Arabia beats out Iran by a hefty margin on a per capita basis. Iran 253 vs KSA’s 149 but Iran has 4 times the population.
You’re right about Saudi Arabia having carried out 184 executions last year – the highest number ever recorded in the country so far, according to a report by Amnesty International. You should check the number of executions in Iran over the past 41 years. Factually, only China executes more.
So you would leave sex maniacs go around free to commit crimes like those do everyday in the west…?! You named also a terrorist organization like amnesty international …don’ t you feel ashamed ?
“don’ t you feel ashamed ?” – No. “You named also a terrorist organization like amnesty international” – Does that change the fact that a Muslim who converted to Christianity in Iran risks the death penalty. Are you ashamed of supporting a regime that executes Christians by choice?
Faggots should be killed.
This is what the mullahs regime does. So when you are in Iran, you should be restrained if you desire to engage in gay sex.
No, faggots should be killed. Restrained? Hell no.
Subhuman dog,. you should be executed for slandering decent governments.
“slandering decent governments” – LOL.
Bye bye mister traitor man lol
In WW2 the French resistance gave scum like this guy a summary trial then shot them.
Great. Personally I would torture this Zionist dog to death, but if they want to be politically correct about it…
I think you’re wrong. The mullahs regime is also known for its excellent torture skills You are a great representative of the mullahs regime, don’t sell yourself short.
Soleimani was not travelling under a heavy blanket of secrecy, so it’s not like it was some super secret info that was provided. Having said that, providing a declared enemy any helpful/damaging information is treason.
The entire operation was a terrorist attack upon a sovereign government leader and was a clear violation of all international law and treaties.
