Iranian military advisers will continue operating in Syria to help the country to defeat terrorists and to counter the Israeli attempt to gain domiance in the region, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian parliament speaker’s special adviser on international affairs, says.
“The Zionist regime tries to gain dominance over Syria after Daesh, but resistance forces and military advisers from the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue their presence alongside Syria to counter terrorism, ” Amir-Abdollahian said during a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah al-Zawawi.
“The Syrian people will not allow the country to be turned into the hotbed of Zionist terrorists once again.”
Over the past few years, Israel has frequently attacked targets inside Syria stating that this is a part of efforts to limit the Iranian influence in the country. Israeli top officials have also vowed that Tel Aviv will do anything needed to prevent Iran from establishing military bases in Syria. They also demanded Iranian forces to withdraw from the country; the move that Teheran rejects.

Iran should take care not to undermine the primacy of the syrian state. That will get them sent home.
As long as Zionism is a threat to Syria, Iran has taken upon to comply with Syria’s request for military assistance. Peace can come only if Israel denounces its territorial ambitions in Syria. Otherwise war will continue. Otherwise, a combined military alliance to expel Israel from the Syrian Golan Heights might occur. Syrian boys are more willing to die to expel foreign invaders from their land then Israeli boys willing to die to keep stolen land. Syrian boys are battle hardened after beating foreign paid mercenaries, and their euphoria and enthusiasm is high.

Israel already has as many Arabs inside its borders as it can handle. It can’t conquer any big city or they would destroy the state when those people conquered got the vote. That’s the only reason the Westbank hasn’t been completely annexed too.
It makes sense for the countries in the region to work together. If Iran and Syria had been in alliance with Iraq, would the US have destroyed Iraq? Time for nations to stop falling into the divide and conquer trap.
Maybe the Iranians should focus a little less on countering Israeli influence and a lot more on installing air defenses on their facilities in Syria. Like the recently attacked T4 base. What’s the point of making defiant statements when the IDF can still bomb your facilities and bases at will? The Russians aren’t going to do this for them, and without the Russians the Syrians can’t do it by themselves. Iran needs air defenses and an air defense network of its own in Syria. And quickly, because at the first sign of Iranians deploying air defense assets to Syria the IDF will attack it before it has a chance of becoming operational.
