On March 29, Liwa Fatemiyoun, an Iranian-backed Afghan group, announced that its fighters had held live-fire drills in Syria.
The drills were held in a unspecified desert area in the southeastern region of Syria, likely near the town of al-Bukamal on the border with Iraq.
Liwa Fatemiyoun shared photos of the live-fire drills, which saw the group’s fighters firing heavy weapons. Furthermore, the fighters used night-vision and thermal sights to train on nigh-time combat operations.

Between 10,000 and 20,000 Afghan fighters are reportedly in service with Liwa Fatemiyoun, which operates in Aleppo, Homs and Deir Ezzor.
The Afghan group, which is funded, trained, and equipped by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, played a key role in the battles against ISIS in central Syria during 2016 and 2017. In 2019, the US sanctioned the group over its role in the Syrian war.
Currently, Liwa Fatemiyoun and other Iranian-backed forces are supporting Syrian government operations against ISIS cells in the central region and guarding the border line with Iraq.

After the alliance treaty of China and Iran many things will start to change but i think the build up of the resistance will continue in Syria. Liwa Fatemiyoun will stay in Syria at least until the Americans leave. China has made several statements about getting involved in Syria, especially the last week. Leaks about the alliance is heavily military in nature with China opening bases in Kish and possibly Syria too and covering/assisting Iran to build nuclear weapons, 5th gen aircraft manufacture and space defense. China has made a huge change in their foreign policy tactics. This week everything changed. Iran just became untouchable and made sanctions irrelevant . The world will not be the same. Man who in their right mind will fight 200 million determined, independent and ideologically united Shia muslims? Fighting Iran was a non starter from day dot. That entire swath of land from Kabul westwards to Beirut is under Iranian sway. It would indeed be a miracle if anybody could challenge this Iranian hegemony. Iranian presence and influence in the region is growing along with military professionalism. The recent pact with China will have profound impact as Indian RAW has clearly identified. China has never signed a total pact with any nation before. The implications are just beginning to dawn on the inept bankrupt Americans. The very fact that these militias are now using modern technologies and weapons is a testament to Iranian capabilities and funding.
