British MI6 spies “smuggled a defecting Iranian nuclear scientist into the UK on a dinghy by using Channel migrant crisis as cover,” according to a report by the Sunday Express.
The story is entirely based on anonymous claims and sources.
According to it, the British spies smuggled the Iranian nuclear scientist on a dinghy across the English Channel. The 47-year-old man allegedly hid among other Iranians on the inflatable boat when making the crossing.
He reportedly travelled 3,000 miles by land to the French coast near Calais after he was reportedly smuggled out of the Islamic Republic and into Turkey by the Israeli secret service Mossad.
“The Iranian scientist, who has information about Iran’s nuclear programme and reportedly helped plan the 2012 assassination of Tehran’s top nuclear expert Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, arrived in Lydd, Kent, with 12 other migrants on New Year’s Eve,” the report claimed.
MI6, however, had a problem. Unlike the US, the UK is still in the Iran Nuclear Deal and they wanted to interview him and help him make his way to America.
“Not wanting to jeopardize the deal by being seen to help a defector, MI6 decided on the unusual method of ‘extraction’ in a joint operation with Mossad and America’s CIA.
‘Once in France, the question of how to get him into Britain remained. We couldn’t simply fly him in. Though unusual, it was determined infiltrating him into a group of fellow migrants preparing to cross the Channel by boat offered one solution.'”
An anonymous source told the Sunday Express that “This wasn’t without its challenges.
“His absence was noted quickly and we were informed that a special unit of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had been dispatched.

MI6 allegedly interrogated the scientist before sending him to the US.
If the British spies discovered anything remains unclear and the story has not been officially confirmed by any of the mentioned parties.

This type of thing has certainly occurred in the past, and there would be no doubt that the CIA/MI6/Mossad would do a lot of things to secure a crucial defector. Assuming the report is accurate, there would no longer be any doubt about what Iran is or is not doing and how good they are at doing it. Also note, that in Israel certain reporters are allowed into news conferences that come with the understanding that not everything said in that room can leave it. While the US/UK often releases a number of details while the operation as a whole remains secret for obvious reasons. If the operation was declassified, these are the select details that you’d expect to become public because it reveals nothing about who or where the defector and the operators are or how exactly they pulled it off.
