Iranian TV released a video purportedly showing missile preparations ahead of the Iranian strike on the US-operated al-Asad Airbase near Baghdad and the US military HQ near Ebril in Iraq on January 8. The video shows warehouses housing the missiles in an undisclosed location as well as launch preparations by personnel of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The strike was conducted in retaliation for the US assassination of the Iranian national hero, General Qasem Soleimani. He was killed alongisde with the deputy leader of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi, also known as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis on January 3.

First they warned the USA an hour before the strike and second they avoided targeting areas of the base where service members were unlikely to be.
Instead of lobbing a few missiles they could have launched a saturation strike without warning at a time when the base was in full operation with larger warheads and a deadlier mix of munitions …. lots of US dead, lots of aircraft destroyed and the runway cratered and mined …. would that have made you happy?
Look at the satellite photos. Every warhead hit something and the USA had no defence against them except to take cover and pray.

The U.S. had plenty of time to respond to those missiles but didn’t even activate their air defenses. THEY KNEW. We aren’t talking about what would make us happy Wayne. These guys still have deep connections in the US military and the the middle east.
I trust this assessment more than ANYTHING said on the GOP’s propaganda arm.

The facts that he presents are not in argument and in fact bolster my suspicions. Though I do question his conclusion. The only fact he brings into question is whether their were any air defenses actually stationed to protect those bases. Now does he know for a fact that those bases didn’t have air defense? I mean are we to believe that the biggest base in Iraq didn’t have air defense? Everyone from the Pentagon on down knew their were no air defenses at this base and thought that was a good idea? I would have to see some proof of that assertion. FYI I don’t trust any news agency. The best we can do is listen to the facts and try to piece together the truth despite the opinionating of the MSM and others.

The issue is either US air defences can’t deal with missiles or US servicemen were left without air defences when Iran is known to have missiles that could strike the air base and were threatening revenge.
As for the former…. questions have been asked of US air defences after that cruise missile / drone attack against the Saudi refinery. Considering the USA is threatening sanctions on anyone even sniffing at Russian air defences you would think the USA would be itching for an opportunity to prove their air defences worked.
If Iranian missiles would have been shot down it would have been checkmate USA. Iran would have been humiliated and defeated. Don’t tell me Trump wouldn’t have wanted that outcome.
If it was the latter it shows a complete disregard for the lives of US servicemen. It was a known threat and US air defences are air mobile. No excuse for leaving your people vulnerable like that. Trump taunted the Iranians, killed their most popular leader and are a known missile threat. If I left my employees vulnerable to a threat like that I’d be charged with criminal negligence then sued if anyone got hurt.
As for the US media why isn’t anybody questioning why the US military leadership doesn’t care enough for the trained pilots, technicians, officers and soldiers and the $billions in aircraft and equipment at the base to deploy air defences.

Heck, the missiles did very little damage and no important targets were hit or destroyed. This is all for show.
Have you read the Danish account of what happened on the ground during the attack? They say there were a lot of dirty diapers in the bunker that day and the destruction was much worse than the pentagon reported with a lot of aircraft destroyed on the ground. They got a direct strike on a drone hanger.
The closest strike to the bunker the Danes were in was 300 yards and that caused so much dust and debris to fall from the concrete bunker that they had trouble breathing . A direct strike on a bunker would have killed a lot of servicemen.
I would agree that “this was all for show” that was Irans intent. I don’t agree that the USA allowed hundreds of millions of dollars of equipment to be destroyed and hundreds of service men in need of therapy and clean drawers because it wasn’t worth the trouble to defend them.
If that’s what how much these idiots care about the taxpayers equipment and servicemen’s lives the USA has a real problem. How many of those trained servicemen are going to re-enlist knowing their officers don’t give a shit about them or their equipment?
We can guess at how much damage and/or which sources are the most accurate. But there is one caveat. From what I have heard the Iranian missiles only took five to six minutes to hit their targets after launch. That is damn little time to detect, plot and intercept especially if they were cruise missiles. Does the U.S. even have an equivalent to the Russian Pantsir close range air defense? Perhaps you can shed some light on another question. There have been many times that passenger planes have been accidently shot down. But have you ever heard of a country accidently shooting down a passenger jet that took off from their own territory, and the biggest airport at that? If the Iranian military is that stupid then anything is possible. Oh, the idiots have never cared about the taxpayer nor the service men except lip service to win votes and support for their initiatives and considering the mentality of those service men, yes they will reenlist.
The Iranians seem to be proud of this farce. Everything in the Islamic Republic seems to be PR, nothing to do with the truth.

Trump did’t have the BALLS to carry through on his threat and US air defences failed to stop an iranian missile attack for the second time this year.
