Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force commander, Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani, had paid a new visit to Syria, the Tasnim News Agency reported on June 27.
According to the Iranian news agency, Ghanni visited the city of al-Bukamal in the east of Deir Ezzor governorate a few days ago. The commander inspected areas where the operations against ISIS remnants are conducted.
During the visit, the senior IRGC commander gave a speech. He accused the U.S. and Israel of founding and supporting ISIS, calling them “two criminal regimes, whose plots are to be put to an end.”

Ghaani succeeded former Quds Force commander Brig. Gen. Qassam Soleimani, who was assassinated by the U.S. in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on January 3.
Last March, Ghanni paid his first visit to Syria, where he inspected the frontlines with Turkish forces in the Western countryside of Aleppo.
Ghanni’s visit appears to be meant to restate Iran’s presence in the city of al-Baukamal, which is located on the Syrian-Iraqi border. Israel carried out a series of attacks on Iranian positions near the city earlier this year.

General Ghaani is a very determined warrior, having spent most of his like in asymmetrical warfare and unlike his predecessor the late great diplomat soldier martyr Soleimani, General Ghaani is far more dangerous as he keeps a low profile and is well versed in regional liberation movements from Afghanistan to Yemen. He is one of the few Iranian generals to have spent time in Gaza as well.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree with you. I think the mullahs regime is a disaster for the Iranian people. The mullahs kidnapped the revolution in 1979. You don’t have to be a “slave” of the Americans to be a prosperous and successful country. But if all your doctrine is based on hatred, others will hate you back. I see what the regime has done to my extended family. Many still love Iran, not just the elders. But no one has ever visited Iran because of the mullahs regime. Why take the risk?
