The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has acknowledged losing one of its officers in Syria, where it remains highly active.
The officer, identified as Mostafa Mahdovinejad, was reportedly killed on July 5. The IRGC described the late officer as a “defender of the shrines,” an honorary title usually given to veterans of the Syrian war. The rank of Mahdovinejad and the exact nature of his work in Syria remain unknown.
The IRGC didn’t clarify how Mahdovinejad was killed. Nevertheless, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights alleged that the Iranian officer was killed near the town of Mheen in the eastern Homs countryside.
According to the London-based monitoring group, a mine planted by ISIS cells a while ago ripped through the officer’s vehicle killing him and wounding at least three other people.
Last year, the IRGC lost five of its soldiers and officers in Syria. Most of them were killed in attacks by ISIS cells in the central region. The guards have been actively supporting Syrian government operations in the region since the beginning of the terrorist group’s insurgence there around three years ago.
Iran remains one of the main backers of the Damascus government. Eleven years into the war in Syria, the IRGC is still active on nearly all fronts.

Condolences to a warrior and fighter against zio jew and Americunt terrorism
Sorry to say, the army of Iran, ain’t so gran, can’t stand up to the Yids from Kikeastan. Boo hoo hoo they losing to the army of the evil Jew.
I hope I don’t get in trouble for typing that. Oh well, if I do I do. We lost our freedom of speech in America thanks to the Zios and their Goyim lackeys.
Iran is loyal next to many from what ive followed. If we did the trade deals that Trump pulled out of for Israel, as we were supposed to, many things would not be happening now. Israel is not a loyal partner.
