The Zolfaghar short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) is a variant of the Fateh-110 SRBM family. It was developed as a part of the campaign to improve the range and accuracy of the existing missiles. The Zolfaghar reportedly has a range of 800km. Iranian media reports claim that the Zolfaghar’s accuracy is within 10 meters. This type of missiles was used in the January 8 Iranian strike on US bases in Iraq.

Zionism = EVIL

Well they worked well as the numerous soiled uniforms of the Americunt cowards attest to. However, there should never have been a warning given to occupation murdering scum.

Assad must stay

yea, I read they did that so to avoid iraqi deaths/injuries, which I guess was good because they don’t want Iraq turning against them. I wonder, and hope that Iran has hypersonics too

Zionism = EVIL

Hopefully, the stupid mullahs won’t stoop to sending flowers with the warning too. They should hit the Americunt occupation arseholes and we would never had had the Ukrainian aircraft tragedy.

bob

No of course they don’t want Iraqis turned against them!

Thats why Iraqis have been protesting for months because the Iranian backed proxies and treacherous pro Iranian scum in iraq have been killing Iraqis

What a nugget

gryzor84

And now their leaders met to create a united front against the remaining US presence, 2003 style, the assassination even led long-time Iran foe Sadr to reactivate its Mahdi army. And others to mend fences with Iran anew. I really hope Chump loved his little TV moments now that even his own Intelligence officials have discredited his claims over the “imminent threat ” posed by Soleimani, that he first waved hysterically as his core argument day after day to justify his overnight strike and that now he now dismisses as negligible elements. I love how he does not adapt to evolving contexts and stumbles routinely on his own declarations. Pompeo now did a U-turn as well and stated that the Iraqis have the last say on the US departure, overtly contradicting his POTUS claim as well. That’s credibility and coherence in high circles. I could almost wish a reelection for the Don. Who needs enemies with a commander in chief like that, seriously. He has been better at uniting his foe and even allies against his country better than any foreign plot even remotely hoped to accomplish. That’s why current and former thinkers of the Deep State like Brzezinski and Kissinger along with their representatives like Bloomberg are so hell bent on plucking that gaping hole in their long-term interest, the man is wreaking everything for the decades to come even faster that Bush Jr. sapped the pillars of American hegemony with his 1.5 trillion debt he brought upon the US public while giving himself and friends billions in oil and weapons money. Kerry/Obama were the last standing chance a safeguard the future of the American dominion in a rather smart and calculated way.

Assad must stay

POWERFUL!!!!

Chris Chuba

Electro-optical terminal, does that mean that it has some image processing to fine tune its final stage to hit its target to say, hit a building rather than just the ground? I’ve heard this term a lot and wondered if visual decoys could be used to counter this type of missile, especially in regard to Israel’s criminal long range bombing in Syria.

Azriel Herskowitz

Easy work for Patriot AA batteries. Piece of Iranian junk.

verner

just one in a set of dozens – the long range ones should be sent off from the caspian sea in droves straight for tel aviv and the iron dome will become the iron doooooom kabooooom and no more friggin hymies anywhere in palestine- a day to behold, wet stains in the sand or pushing up daisies galore. the liberation of palestine is something extra to behold and the resurrection of the one state solution – palestine is a better prospect than the continued existence of the hymies.

Damien C

The Patriot missile is an awesome piece of kit one of the best in the world if it was targeting something like the a Zeppelin or a Hindenburg … maybe even a Wright brothers bicycle with wings attached

Against anything faster than a wood-pigeon you may as well kiss your arse goodbye

Wayne Nicholson

Please explain why the Patriot didn’t work in Saudi Arabia then …. in fact show me an example of a confirmed kill of a missile warhead from a Patriot that wasn’t a US source. Not hitting the booster but the warhead.

The reason being that the US claimed the Patriot shot down 40 Iraqi Scud missiles in ’91 but analysis showed they were 1 for 40 with even that one being controversial … even a broken clock is right twice a day. These Iranian missiles are much more accurate and have countermeasures while the Scuds were clones of WW2 vintage V2’s which aren’t accurate enough to be anything more than a terror weapon.

bob

….So are those Russian missiles, especially when they’re shooting down innocent civilians, easy peasy!

Anyways the current narrative is that some naughty boys spoofed the whole super dupper unbeatable Iranian air defence system, well if that’s true its just rendered all of Putin strategy redundant, you know all that area denial stuff with S, this that and the other’s

Slam dunk!

Azriel Herskowitz

Good point, Bob!

bob

it could happen, especially if you follow the new and emerging narrative from the usual suspects,ie, the people who read this site amongst others of a similar ilk

But the best thing is once they’ve asked this question of themselves the only conclusion is that the much vaunted russian AD complex is actually a weapon system someone else can use its just to horrible to contemplate,i know this is something the genius called the saker can’t and won’t entertain, but he will in time, mark my words!

Of course this is just about the worst nightmare for this lot, as it destroys their whole world outlook of superiority, and the best part of it is they are driving themselves towards this conclusion

bob

Haha its started

the Iranian website Tasnim have admitted two of their wiz bangs fell on Iranian territory, apparently due to ” technical malfunction”

Of course they couldn’t admit they been hacked!

gryzor84

They did from the start acknowledge that 2 of their missiles failed mid-flight. Same happens to every Tomahawk strike, so what ? military ordnance as a variable failure rate in every industry and it shows. You don’t hack inertial/optical guidance, as such method is airtight, there you show you mild inculture of military topics, but that’s alright. You jam a radar-guided vector, you hack a GPS-guided vector (like Iran did 9 long years ago with an “invisible” RQ-170 that they made land intact on their airbase), and you blind IR-seeking missiles. You don’t hack/jam/spoof inertial guidance as its based on physical internal measurements from the missile towards itself, every single military specialist will say it, and you can find that info pretty much everywhere if you look into it for 5 minutes. Physics speak harder than smart-asses.

bob

You better tell that to the smart – asses because they’re under starters orders, in fact they’ve already jumped the gun!

gryzor84

The current narrative is that there were unacceptable negligence and mishandling + breaches of military protocols in that AD section, you should either learn to read or get back to school if you missed that, it’s been looping in English in the written press and tv.

Aside from that, I see your silly thesis implicitly postulates that somebody on the US intelligence side spoofed the Iranian AD so that they shoot down a civilian airliner ? and if true, you would then be proud of that call and crack jokes about it ? Well I guess you retarded schmuck just lost your right to comment the matter further, since you seem to enjoy talking shit about innocent people killed by some “silent operatives”, even if that thesis itself is total bullocks.

bob

i beg to differ my friend, its actually the minds of your friends who write anti western propaganda who are propagating this story, in fact a senior Iranian spokesman alluded to things being switched off

So no its not me its you lot who thrive on this sort of stuff

gryzor84

Those are not my friends, bob. I am opposed to the Iranian theocracy, and I have said many times why on this site, politically speaking. That is why despite my condemnation of how his assassination happened and from who’s hand, I won’t shed a single crocodile tear as to his fate. He had it coming, and I simply wished the Iranian people itself could have one day handled his case.

Now of course that certain does not mean I will support its enemies whoever they are, specially those bent on ripping its state fabric apart and make it another Afghanistan or Iraq, and currently provoking medicine shortages and famine around while striking with their jurisdictional long-arm against other countries begging to differ with that treatment just because they still control a bit too much of the world’s economy.

And please, I won’t speak the mind of your POTUS thriving in indecency on Twitter ever since he came to office, bragging about stealing a country’s oil, or taking out another’s cultural heritage, when it’s not about destroying a people’s economy and putting its people at the brink of famine or dismissing an entire people as rapists. He does it pretty well himself. Covfefe.

Wayne Nicholson

“are those Russian missiles, especially when they’re shooting down innocent civilians, easy peasy!”

Are you talking about a civilian aircraft or Mary Poppins?

You know the US Navy hands out medals for shooting down civilian airliners. No bullshit they actually handed out medals for killing 290 Iranian civilians.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Air_Flight_655#Post-tour_of_duty_medals

Wayne Nicholson

“Anyways the current narrative is that some naughty boys spoofed the whole super dupper unbeatable Iranian air defence system, well if that’s true its just rendered all of Putin strategy redundant, you know all that area denial stuff with S, this that and the other’s”

Just to be clear … your saying that some operative hacked the Iranian air defences and caused them to shoot down a civilian airliner?

Just how gullible are you? If that DID happen why would anyone leak the story and take the blame away from Iran? Wouldn’t the purpose of such an act be to make Iran take the blame?

The ONLY country that would benefit from such a story is Iran. And if that’s the case you sir are a “useful idiot” for sharing it.

Frankly, judging by your posts, you’re not that useful.

bob

Memes are dangerous things

Be careful how you use them!

Wayne Nicholson

Non sequeters OTOH just cause people to question you intelligence.

bob

Calmo big boy

bob

They don’t need to use Patriots, as they’ll hack these wiz bangs, and as someone above suggested, fly them back into Iran, Tehran, good big target

Now its bad enough for the MULLAHS after this recent disaster with SAM,s imagine what would happen if one of these big wiz bangs went astray?????

Simply delicious,isn’t it!

gryzor84

Well first off your dream of a global fiasco hasn’t happened, and friendly fire/Misfire happened to the USS Valenciennes that was way better equipped to distinguish an airliner from an Iranian F-14 in 88 over the Persian Gulf. Old news you might say, well should I quote the western fighter planes such as Tornados and F-16s being taken out by Patriot batteries as far in time as 2003 as scared the hell out of pilots more than any other threat at the time ? https://warisboring.com/that-time-an-air-force-f-16-and-an-army-missile-battery-fought-each-other/

So yes, bob, you have a tendency to miss big stuff around before clumsily trying to make smart-ass comments and looking dumber than those you make fun of. Please be my guest in continuing, as it’s quite amusing to witness.

bob

You have a tendency not to understand strategy

And the strategy was to create the right conditions for sanctions, to destroy the Iran nuclear deal, which has more or less now happened, as the French,uk, and Germany look like they’ll be out

So more pain for Iran, just how much more can they take before imploding?

gryzor84

Oh I fully understand it, I simply say it’s not going to work the intended way, and explained why. I never expected any kind of real resilience from the EU bloc that historically are economic stooges of the US, what’s surprising in that ? I’d rather look at Russia and China’s 200 and 250 billion dollar investment inked a couple month ago on the coming 10 years in Iran’s petrochemical , transport, maritime and electrical industry. You seem to believe history stops today, that’s what ruins every bit of your rationale. Yes, Iran today suffers, and POTUS has been shamed as a rogue leader even by its own allies. But there is a tomorrow, there are longer-term investments, and despite constant chest-beating from the current WH, Iran has proved resilient to this day. Now of course the Airliner crisis clouds the bigger picture and you shortsighted folks love to grasp at straws and make it a global case, but the dust will settle and people already remember what happened in 88 on the part of the US. Tides change all the time in PR. This too you fail to understand.

bob

Of course they’ll be a longer term, once the theocratic dictatorship is gone, well actually all it needs to do is moderate itself and it can survive

Look at Vietnam, treated far worse by America than anything the Iranians have had to endure, and now they look towards America with love and adoration, they want America to be their biggest investor,so i suppose this could be Iran future if they were smart, but they’re not

gryzor84

Lol… they don’t “love and adorate” anyone, man, wake up, nobody does that and your poster fangirl & boys waving little flags are just PR, no matter who those flags belong to.. They simply weigh their interests in the face of Chinese encroachment and with reason, just like they played them against the Soviet and militarily crushed an incursion attempt by Beijing at the time. And now they keep on choosing the Russians when it comes to strategic contracts, MoUs and weapons contracts. They certainly haven’t forgotten the clear and present dangers posed by cool stuff like Agent Orange, unexploded ordnance and 75% of their population is still alive and well to tell about how adorable are their US friends were with them back when rock was still the only game in town (and I miss those days :p). Actually there is a real trend of former US servicemen wishing to return peacefully on long vacations to Vietnam to finally forget their disastrous campaign that tore so many souls back home in those days. Specific tours have been set up to benefit from that population, there are articles around, you would love them ;-)

gryzor84

If America wanted to make Iranians love them then maybe they could have thought better than to kill their burgeoning parliamentary democracy in the egg just because its PM took the oil off their hands in 1953 while asking for fair trade instead, prop up a coup and replace the guy with a monarch puppet. The 1979 hatred of the US didn’t come from nowhere, nor did the ordinary Iranian adhered to it for no reason. Now of course there’s always going to be nostalgic of a past era after every revolution, no matter its nationality. And in Iran’s case, I can even understand further that since living through such unspeakable hardships must be unbearable and anything other than the status quo would be perceived as better, even the return to US patronage and the end of their sovereignty, quite luxurious notions for the average suffering Iranian. But the thing is, the same people are not blind. They do not confuse hatred of their government with adoration of another that also happens to be part of the whole problem. You do have a knack for confusing the two, though. Sure it would make the world easier to understand, black & white is always more straightforward than a multitude of greys.

bob

We’ll see,but I’m not holding my breath

I’ll leave you to marinate in the past as you seem obsessed with it,plus you’re wiz bangs

Oh incidentally I’m not sure China is gonna help the mullahs as they pulled out of that big gas deal development thing last year, its the power of America my friend you need to come to terms with it, because it ain’t going away!

gryzor84

If I could drop a rofl smiley on that comment, I would have.

They Chinese did not back away from the investment my friend, they were not related, they simply lowered they official exports, and had you read more specialized segments of the press including Reuters Business and the Financial times, you would have learned it, too. If anything, current Iranian petrochem exports can’t even be gauged, while it’s clear that the country would have crumbled on itself entirely with nothing standing had it actually lowered to 200k bpd. That figure is the measurable data.

Oh I’ll sleep soundly on my take indeed mate, as I’m not the one still delving into persisting delusions of Reaganian grandor and its long-gone all-round US hegemony while its financial and economic dominion and military hold is waning year after year, as more countries overtly dare challenge its regional rule, when they’re not ditching its currency from bilateral exchange all the way to oil barrels in favor of China, with alternative circuits growing constantly. Friendo, you should take your own advice sometimes ;-)

Oh and where’s your 5G takedown when even London doesn’t follow suits and embraces Huawei that Trump promised to quash ? how about Russian pipelines for Europe destroying a plunging fracking business in the US ? didn’t you swear you’d rip apart German commerce should they ignore your calls to drop Moscow ? Where’s Crimea btw ? when exactly do we bout the Russian out of there ? or from the Donbass ? And your plans in Syria ? your stay in Iraq ? Your sway on Lybia while Russia and Erdogan pretty much calls the shots there playing with former CIA turncoat Haftar ? Your trillion and a half debt ? Exploding Student debt ? Non-existant healthcare ?Well, it certainly seems like a brilliant present right there.

Americaaaa, Americaaaaaa. xD

bob

Stop acting like a sixth former, you hysterical creature

You really do need to calm down dear,I’m watching the news this fine morn from the luxury of my home and all i see is the whole axis of resistance thing bending and deforming under pressure from the free world

Its actually an axis of failure, theres a little hint for you

China accused of being a nasty repressive state abusing human rights

Lebon in bits

Ditto syria,Venezuela, and of course your favourite Iran who’ve just arrested someone who took a video of the plane they, the regime, shot down,Hahahahahaha

In most countries that person would be called a’ witness ‘ and the video ‘ evidence ‘ But in mad mullah land no,its a national security violation!!!!

FFS you couldn’t make it up

There’s an awful lot of ” your” in this tiresome juvenile rant

Its all bitterness, you can’t come to terms with the superior mode of the Anglo sphere, tough!

Because it aint going away, now be a good chap and put your dummy back in and gather your toys up, please stop throwing them out of your pram its extremely unbecoming!

gryzor84

Ahaha wow bobby, now take a deep breath, you’re going to have a stroke there. Man, dedicating en ENTIRE post frenetically gesticulating in anger after obvisouly loosing the little composture you had, adressing exactly zero of my points and playing on cheap pseudo-figures of speech all of this to put down “my” juvenile rant ? if you weren’t that mediocre of an of an frustrated person, I could almost be flattered. The only thing “luxurious” here would be your delusions of grandor dear, wake up. Both of yourself, and your crumbling country that needs nobody else than a reelection of Orange dude to finish the job of wrecking it from the inside at home and the international scene. You made my day with tvat latest gem of yours, now please have a shoot of that kool-aid, take a step back and relax and your rusty armchair you pathetic clown ,it seems to help you believe you haven”t totally failed your life. And by the almighty Anglo-sphere you probably meant that little empire that lost every bit of the old world it once posessed all the way to northern Ireland and soon Scotland , or its little brother that is about to get its economy surpassed by one the crown’s very biggest former colony ?

bob

bingo! Hahaha hahaha hahaha

You don’t have any ‘ points’ , though, only bitterness only failures ,which miraculously turn into some bright new future, a world run by islamo fascism, intolerant communist, a Russian mafia oligarchy, and a bunch of failures hanging on for grim death

The 84 must be a reference to your IQ

gryzor84

LOL it took you two minutes to react, looks like somebody’s been sweating in front of his screen.,don’t worry dear I’m here now ?and You’re laughing hard with yourself now,I knew there were two people in there . Now please continue digging. Btw did you know communism was dead and both Russia and China are now champions of market capitalism ? gonna have to change your tune one of these days ,I guess 84 is your age considering you also still think there is an Anglo empire shining around ?

bob

With age comes wisdom

gryzor84

“Feel da WraTh of Da Anglo Sphere mode” indeed. Your maturity truly shined with this one.

bob

Ok, renamed IQ 84

Don’t push it, or it’ll be IQ 79, you know the same year as that act of child revolution which is working out so well for the mad mullahs

But if you continue with your silliness it’ll be IQ ZERO just like the zero no hope mad mullah theocratic dictatorship

Over to you IQ 78,Oops i meant IQ 84 genuine slip there old boy!

gryzor84

Wow, threats of a bad mark from a street clown, now I’m truly scared xD. Actually I can’t even believe you actually let out such a poorly-worded kindergarten post while claiming to be an adult. But you know how it is :The dumber you are, the less you realize. Ignorance is bliss. 0 would rather be your dignity from now on. And as such not worth a minute more of my time, even for fun.

bob

Its all fun though, come on now i didn’t mean it,honestly

I need you to come out and play IQ 84

gryzor84

Nah it’s pretty apparent that this rock-bottom kindergarten digression and general attitude is the real you,too late to backtrack, Indeed off-topic knee-jerking ,cheap sloganeering and personal attacks all bear the hallmarks of that minuscule mind of yours. Now if you wanna play around like this then you need to get a life as I don’t want nor am I there to entertain children trolls, sorry not sorry. Nonetheless I’ll thank you for the easy pleasure of wrecking you every step of the way and getting under your skin this morning.

bob

” sorry not sorry” whats that supposed to mean?

You sound a bit confused

As for this morning you truly brightened up what was starting to look like a very slow day, anyway many thanks , and pass on my love to your mum, yummy, wink, wink

gryzor84

I’m not the one confused lol, it’s a common jab you imbecile. 2020 already and the old idiot didn’t even get that one.

Here, I’ll let you use this URL : http://www.google.com I promise it’ll help you find out the truth with many examples. You know “Googling”, right ?

As for the mum comment, I guess that was yet another nail in your dignity’s coffin. At your age grandpa, seriously.

gryzor84

Oh yes, we all saw how they beautifully took out every single of those 22 missiles before they wiped away all of their intended soft targets with pinpoint accuracy right in front of scared US personnel, staring from their bunkers live on tv. So you are illiterate, AND blind, it seems.

bob

…..and missed all the helicopters, i thought the intention was to destroy the American war machine, not destroy tents

I must have missed something?

gryzor84

Yes you have, the part where Danish soldiers said that helicopters, among other hard targets, were actually destroyed as well, for starters. It was printed yesterday, on quoted on this very website on top of their original publications. So yes, you must have clearly missed something I’m afraid.

Besides, all publicly available sources and mainly mainstream western ones such as Reuters and CNN, have stated that this advance warning came from Iran. And that it was passed onto Iraqi authorities so that they could act indirectly and independently from Iran.

Indeed, I can understand that Iranians were not stupid enough to tie Trump’s hands into a deadly, global retaliatory strikes that would have drawn blood from dozens of soldiers. After all, no POTUS could have refrained from action when unique, exceptional and sacred American nose starts bleeding, even when it happens to be a former invader forcefully staying in the place they fight on for years, right ?

As to your core argument :The one and only viable solution for this while setting a rock-solid concrete military precedent that would make US military planners and political decision-making circles in the next stand-off was to do just that : target precisely, but target intelligently. Had the Pentagon dismissed the lack of victims to the lower quality of Iranian missile while retaining their deadly intent, retaliation would have been massive. Instead, we had words and even hints of gentle accolades on the fight against ISIS that all of the sudden, totally out of the blue, became in Trump’s words”a common fight against a common foe they had with Iran”. A day before he was equating them with one another and repeatedly stated that Iran colluded with them. The whole thing was pathetic.

The US intelligence community changed its discourse several times over the past days, firs they said verbatim that Iranian avoided striking valuable though risky targets, public satellite imagery confirmed their pinpoint, tomahawk-like nature that further consolidated that kind of observations, then some General said that “in his humble opinion the Iranian tried to harm US personnel” while admitting he has no hard evidence to back it up, then came today’s thesis about the US intelligence getting advance warning of the strike without anyone’s help, and so on.

They seem to be struggling with what they wanted to acknowledge publicly with these even-changing thesis, and yes, a bit like some Iranian officials too that at first unilaterally claimed 80 dead US soldiers, then PMCs, then backing away entirely from that position via higher-level denials and clarifications. It definitely feels like the last-minute cancellation of Donald’s emergency speech to the press on the night of the attack was reminiscent of that trend as well. The whole thing was messy but hard facts are there.

bob

Well the satellite photos I’ve seen on this site clearly show helicopters, but no apparent destruction, unlike the tents, poor tents, which have obviously felt the full furry and hell and vengeance of the Iranian theocratic dictatorship

The whole episode was for domestic Iranian regime propaganda purposes, but obviously wasted as they blow up the plane and spoilt it for themselves

But now back to reality, because the world moves on and due to the childish stupidity of the mullahs, they’ll find themselves in even more economic pain as the Iran nuclear deal is now dead

What kind of brilliant strategist would paint themselves into such a tight corner

Infact its even better, because it’ll force the Russians and Chinese to follow suit and if they don’t they’ll lose all credibility with the international community, plus incur the wrath of America who will sanction them if they try and trade with iran

To sum up, as you pour over photos of destroyed tents, the game intensifies and the regime becomes more desperate, even threatening the EU!

What dumb idiots!

gryzor84

“Well the satellite photos I’ve seen on this site clearly show helicopters” and the soldiers that testified and were present that say otherwise, I guess we’re going to have a problem with your credibility here, again.

As for the “poor tents”, I addressed that earlier with facts acknowledged by “your friends” too, before they retracted and changed their version and suddenly had to thank their intel community for preventing chaos.

The whole episode was for both domestic and American audiences + officials as to the potential military implication of a fully-fledged war with Iran, no matter who “wins” on the long run, and it worked.

Their current situation is due to the fact that a country called the US of A actually broke a Security Council treaty, which is a first of its kind of breaches in the whole history of the UN, while the AIEA persistently confirmed Iran’s compliance and billion-dollar worth of US business contracts were about to be inked, through Boeing, Microsoft, even GM and Ford, absent from Iran for 40 years straight. And a brilliant POTUS decided the US was better off dancing on the brink of what everybody believed could be the worst high-intensity conflict that their soldiers could face ever since 45.

What the “American wrath” has also accomplished is a historic loss of the American dollar as a reliable currency, and more alternative basket of currencies inked between major world players distancing themselves from traditional circuits of financial american dominance, and even the acceleration of SWIFT alternatives growing in China and Russia, and other BRICS countries. All those dragged their feet for decades before that, and now are acting faster than in the past 70 years to bridge that gap as the necessity is a clear and present American strategic nuisance playing its last cards of hegemony with as incredible amateurish recklessness, frying their own core strategic leverage for the generation to come instead of intelligently cementing it through cooperation and alliances. And you’ll live to see it’s consequences of that foolishness. Russia first in line de-dollarize almost entirely and has been deemed “bullet-proof” against further US sanctions by Wall Street itself. They do what they want where they want it and Washington cannot do jack. Same with China in the Pacific. Where the Pivot to Asia ? Oh, stuck in a the middle-eastern quagmire, again. That’s only a start.

IMHO

I’m not impressed when Iran is so stupid that they shoot down a passenger jet that takes off from their own territory and their largest airport. Perhaps they will accidently launch this missile at Tehran. LOL, what a bunch of idiots.

Rhodium 10

The only stupid was the Ukraine pilot who diverted the plane 2 km and put the nose towards IRGC AD base!…

Kananda

sure, you zero

gryzor84

The US did exactly the same with better hardware in 1988 over the PG, but instead had its VP swear on TV that he would “never apologize no matter what the facts are”, had its sailors and naval commander decorated and took EIGHT FULL YEARS to even acknowledge their catastrophic mistake. And you talk shit like friendly fire doesn’t exist anywhere but in Iran, LMFAO. And this is specially true in times of high-tension. I would love to see you perform in an environment where folks would be expected potential “Shack & Awe” strikes from none other than the world’s first military power. There was dire negligence if not outright incompetence and there will be trial, it might be biased, for PR or show or whatever, but it’s stil a universe ahead of how Washington handled a similar crisis. Really made my day, IMHO.

IMHO

That is NOT the same thing. The U.S. did not shoot down it’s own passenger jet over the Persian Gulf much less over it’s own territory.

gryzor84

You are right,on second thought that is actually WORSE . They were reckless and didn’t care risking then killing hundreds of innocent Iranian civilians just because they weren’t their own. To hell if they were human beings, they flew the wrong flag and that was enough to be dispatch outright. And instead of offering an apology and public trials like Iran is doing now, they openly stated they wouldn’t ever do that “regardless of facts”,decorated the perpetrators, and took eight long years to even acknowledge a mistake.

IMHO

So are you expecting me to be an apologist for the U.S.??? There have been many passenger jets shot down by “mistake” over the years. But never has a country shot down a passenger jet that had just taken off from it’s own territory and it’s largest airport too boot. You are bringing intent into it, I am talking about the stupidity of it.

gryzor84

I’m not expecting anything from you, rest assured. I’m dimply ppinting out that your rationale is flawed at its core,as you’re desperatly trying and failing at making a specifi case out two almost identical mishaps to satisfy ideological points, hence the intellectual bankrupty of your whole effort. Plus, the Iranian shot down their own plane in a very tense and active context because a local commander with comms issues had a 10-sec window to make a catastrophic decision on what was believed lamentably wrongly to be the opening of a flurry of LACM strikes from the world’s 1st military superpower on one hand, and a US naval commander with much better identification apparatus and ample situationnal awareness + larger time margin to make the shooting decision that in the end proved equally wrong. The crew had time to detect, follow and track the airliner long before taking on it in comparison to the Iranian case, look into it,and you’ll see key different variables. At the very best you’re comparing apples and oranges, and the very relevance of your emphasis is null. Plus, repeated instances of Patriot missiles taking down your own fighter jets kinda degrades your ability to focus on a single such foreign mistake. It’s like you’re jumping on a single opportunity within a given stand-off to make a valid case for yourself and further hurt your credibility.

IMHO

Your thinking seems to be that since the U.S. has done stupid things then Iran is somehow immune from criticism for doing one of the stupidest things ever. You are the one who decided to compare these two incidents which you now call apples to oranges. And they are apples and oranges. The U.S. didn’t shoot down one of it’s own passenger jets. IRAN DID. The first Iranian admission tried to blame it on ONE person and that still doesn’t hold water.

In this case you should have dismissed my comparison out of hand. But instead, you made it become apples and oranges by choosing a biased and factually flawed angle in a vain attempt to counter it. Making it an affair of flags ,really ? Actually your relentless insistance at making a specific case of Iran simply because it shot down its own passenger rather than a foreign one is quite telling,as it proves that your take is a completely an ideological/political one fixated on making anything Iran does worse than the US just because you like and support the latter and hate the former in that stand-off. Hence there is zero intellectual value in that approach and you absolutely know it. I mean your very wording is odd : “stupid things”when it comes to the US taking out a packed Iranian passenger jet and suddenly becomes unacceptable ,tragic and uniquely criminal when the very same kind of mistake is commited by Iran ? gimme a break kid, there isn’t an ounce of crediblity in your whole pseudo-argument. Besides there are countless angles from where one could legitimately make a special case of Iran when it comes to its internal policies, the theocratic tyranny and all obviously, but your stupidly weak take on that scenario might be the single most ineffective and unapplicable way at giving jabs at Tehran from an American position in this whole context, and true friends of the Iranian people do not need allies of circumstance of your kind today, as your approach is utterly disingenuous and gives the mullahs a valid case of gross public bias that they will use massively for PR,period. By contrast,I like how Trudeau was able to keep a cool head and while he legitimately didn’t pull any punches against the regime, but still did not forget to remind who actually started that whole mess in the first place and recklessly pushed the whole region to the brink of total war by assassinating a country’s unsuspecring number three official furthermore by trumpling upon another country’s sovereinty in the process a week ago.

IMHO

Do you think you are clairvoyant or something. You have absolutely no understanding of my intentions or my understanding. The fact that you think you do just because I said that Iran was absolutely stupid for shooting down their own plane seriously calls into question your motives and hang-ups though. “Relentless insistence”???? Look in the mirror man, it’s you who is making a case out of me telling the truth. You are the one with your feelings hurt and lashing out. You simply don’t like that I pointed out the stupidity of Iranian leadership. And you have gone off on a SELF feeding tangent making straw man arguments. Now if you want to believe that shooting down your own plane from your own runway is common then that only shows that you are on par with the Iranian leaders. Just blame it on the boogey to deflect blame.

Well at least I had the decency to explain my points in their entirety and presented what I thought was making me right in detailed replies every time, and not just in the service of empty looping sloganeering parroting one and the same broken arbitrary formula to yourself while disregarding every bit of objective factual, technical and historical data whatsoever. Of course you’ve been relentless in defending your thesis against mine spanning several days, do you need a proper definition of the word ? and that latest belated response of yours is yet another iteration of the same mindset. If anything, you’re as fixated on your position as I am on mine, yet you thought smart to attempt a lecture on mine, where I went to great le.ghts to explain my position in full at every turn, out of intellectual courtesy despite our strong disagreement, you’re so hell-bent on opposing me on everything I say that you didn’t even notice it. Not only did I point out the stupidity of the regime but I even went much further by presenting you their current propaganda system I’ve had the displeasure of watching in their tongue over the past several days, and the service your kind was doing them, so that jab of yours is beyond lamentable and uncalled for. Yet again you call it “stupid” to take down one’s own airliner four times over while you adressed exactly zero of the responses I made as many times in my parallels. That in turn telling of how borderline insane you actually prove to be in your determination to pin some kind of unique blame on a country simply because you don’t like it. You simply want to have the last word and be right on your initial assessment even if an entire universe of facts speaks otherwise or at least provides a decent alternative to it. That’s as futile as it is childish and I won’t comment that further. And for Christ sake what boogey are you even talking about ? I acknowledged, underlined, pointed to and explicitly condemned their tragic incompetence from the onset of that thread, while simply stating factual arguments in hand that it was not unique to Iranians. Is there a literacy issue I should be worried about here on top of everything else or is it just plain disrespect not even caring about actual substance in other people’s replies ? if you prefer talking to yourself please say it outright next time ,it’ll save us both a lot of valuable time here. Case closed.
