Reports inform that the terrorist group has repeatedly used internationally-banned chemical weapons on their latest attacks in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk.

Iraq: Daesh chemical attack

Arshad Salihi, leader of the Iraqi Turkmen Front stated on Friday that militants of the terrorist group Daesh carried out a series of attacks in the town of Tuz Khurmatu, located 15.5 miles south of Kirkuk on March 9th using chemical agents.

According to the report, hundreds of citizens were injured on the attack and three other people resulted dead.

The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front claimed that the extremist group has the necessary materials to produce this kind of weapons and the specialists to make them as well.

Ahmet Uzumcu, Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said on Tuesday according to investigations made by the organization, there is evidence that strongly suggests the use of sulphur mustard in the attacks perpetrated by extremist militants in different localities in Iraq and some others in neighboring Syria. However, Uzumcu stated that “…they couldn’t attribute this to Daesh…there are strong suspicions that they may have used them (chemical weapons)”

Also, the Director General of The Hague-based watchdog claimed: “…the suspicions are that they may have produced it themselves, which is extremely worrying”.

23 people were killed and over 100 others resulted injured on April 7th’s attack against members of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in a small town of Aleppo, Syria.

According to videos released online, yellow gas rose after the attacks in Sheikh Maqsood in Aleppo, located about 220 miles from Damascus.

The Syrian-American Medical Society informed that members of the so-called Islamic State have carried out over 160 attacks using poisonous and asphyxiating agents like: sarin, chlorine and mustard gas since the beginning of the conflict five years ago already.

The report also claims that 1491 people have been killed in the cited attacks.
