Iraq’s forces launched a military operation in the order to seize back the city of Rataba.
Monday’s statement of the Iraq’s Joint Operations Command says that special forces, army soldiers, police, border guards and volunteer Popular Mobilization units are involved in the operation to recapture the town, held by ISIS since 2014.
The offensive is supported by battle tank, artillery unts and warplanes.
In 2016, the Iraqi government regained control of large parts of the Anbar province, including the city of Ramadi, the town of Hit and some other parts of the province.
