On April 27, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) liberated the town of Hatar. This victory came just 48 hours after the launch of Operation “Mohammad Rasool Allah”. Thus, the operation achieved its all objectives.
The PMU used its firepower and numerical superiority to capture most of the surroundings of the town and cut its way during the first 24 hours of the operation.
The PMU announced that, during Operation “Mohammed Rasool Allah”, it had killed 212 terrorists, including 41 suicide bombers, destroyed 38 VBIED and seized four others.
After entering the town, the PMU reportedly discovered a mass grave for ISIS terrorists.
The commander of the PMU, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandes, stated that the operation achieved a success.
He emphasized the role of the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Air Force support for the “Mohammed Rasul Allah” operation, and said that the PMU will continue its fight against ISIS until the liberation of all of Iraq.

During the operation, the PMU evacuated 5,500 civilians from Hatar town and its vicinity. Civilians would return back after removing all mines and IED left behind by ISIS.
The area of Ayyadh, Tal Afar west of Mosul and Kairouan south of the Mount Sinjar and Qahtaniya on the Syrian-Iraqi border are potential targets for the PMU in the next phase.
They would have moved on Afar some time ago if USA havent stopped them through Abadi
Turkey also placed pressure to make sure Tal Afar would not be liberated.
