Iraq has received another batch of six T-50IQ fighter trainer jets from South Korea, the Iraqi Air Force said in a statement.

This is the second batch of T-50IQ received by Iraq. So, now, the Iraqi Air Force has 12 T-50IQ fighter trainer jets.

The Iraqi Air Force is going to use the received warplanes in operations against the remaining ISIS cells across the country.

Last year, the Irqi military announced that it will receive 24 T-50IQ aircraft from South Korea in the framework of an agreement signed in 2013. The $1.1 billion agreement included delivery of the aircraft and training of Iraqi personnel.

A nice picture of a World War I Fokker Dr. 1. I do agree with you that this Iraqi purchase was not a wise decision but it does show that they are diversifying their sources of hardware.. Uncle Stupid in Washington, DC may not like this but in war, you can sell just about anything. Just have some gall and ask whatever price you feel you can get.

Flying cr@p. Irak buys all the g@rbage others don’t need anymore. 1.1 BILLION US-dollars for 2 dozen jets that are worse than the obsolete F-16. Even with some old MiG-29, Irak would have had better fighter-jets and they wouldn’t eve costed so much

Bob

It’s a supersonic TRAINER jet. Incidentally, the Mig-29, a thing of beauty, is the Soviet era design analogue to the F-16.

as

It’s a trainer jet. Were not as sophisticated and complex than full fledged fighter jet like the obsolete f16. I agree though they should experiment more in converting light to medium military grade cargo plane as bomber.

All ISIS are not Zionists but they have conscript Syrians to fight against their own nation. The slaughtering of 90 ISIS own members mean the end of ISIS.

Hey Iraq……Enjoy the Israel Inside ** technology of your T 50 IQ. All that Israel Inside …. They can get data on which Iraqi training Pilots have the right stuff.

Then Mossad visit with USD $$$…….or visit like they do Iranian scientist

US supplied Kurd/SDF with weapons and light armoured vehicles. All came thru Iraq. Assad must be thrilled to have such a great neighbour of Islam.

as

SAAB Gripen would be a good investment to start off at 4th gen production as it was built in modules. Although i agree Iraq and Syria have to add more fleets of operational planes as quickly as possible to restore and stabilize control and any additional of reliable machines should be welcomed.

British Aerospace modules that “phone home”. Who wants that?
