The Iraqi Army and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) have liberated the strategic border city of al-Qaim from ISIS.
The army and the PMU launched its attack on al-Qaim on November 3 morning and liberated the city by the evening facing a relatively small ISIS resistance in the area. Now, when the last major ISIS stronghold in Iraq fell into the hands of government forces, the army and the PMU will be able to work on securing the rest of western Iraq.
This also opens additional opportunities for Syrian forces which are now working to retake the ISIS-held city of al-Bukamal on the Syrian side of the border.
On November 3 morning, the Syrian military also announced the liberation of Deir Ezzor city.

Excellent velocity indeed, and hopefully some will cross the border for joint operation with SAA on Al Bukamal. An Iraqi mechanized div at full strength has a lot of hitting power, this is what I was referring to in our arguments 6 months ago. For the SAA to at least have a solid right flank along the border with help. You are very impatient like most people. :)
