People living in Ramadi have been asked to move out from the city due to a tougher offensive of the Iraqi government to IS militants.

According to declarations of the spokesman for Iraq’s Defense Ministry on Saturday, Iraqi families have left their houses in the capital of Anbar Province due to a major offensive to liberate the area that has been under the control of the Islamic State.
Brigadier General Yahya Rasul informed that tens of families managed to run away from Daesh captivity and sought asylum in their military units, adding that the citizens moved to al-Humayrah District by request of the defense ministry.
Rasul also stated that the Iraqi army and the volunteers fighting ISIL have developed a complete strategy for the liberation of Ramadi’s central region.
The campaign to retake Ramadi, seized by the Islamic State in May, began earlier this month, with pro-government forces managing to record back-to-back victories against the militants. It has also been reported that allied forces regained control of a military complex in Northern Ramadi earlier this week before having captured the neighborhood of Husaybah on the eastern outskirts of the city and Al-Ta’meem district in southwest.
