On September 14, the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service (CTS) received a large batch of military equipment from the US-led coalition.
According to Yehia al-Rasool, a spokesman for the Iraqi Commander-in-Chief, the equipment included 20 armored vehicles as well as computer systems.
Photos released by al-Rasool revealed that the vehicles are an unarmed version of the M1117 Armored Security Vehicle. The vehicle, which was developed in the 1990s for the US Military Police Corps, was designed for law reinforcement and security operations with mine and implosive explosive device (IED) resisting features.

A spokesman for the US-led coalition said that the equipment was supplied as a part of the US Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Found (CTEF) program.
“We remain resolute as partners of the ISF in their fight to Defeat Daesh [ISIS],” the spokesman, Col. Wayne Marotto, said on Twitter.
Just a day earlier, the US-led coalition handed over 20 Humvee armored vehicles to Iraqi security forces under the same program.

Recently, the US-led coalition claimed that pro-Iranian forces in Iraqi have been attacking supply convoys carrying military equipment supplied to Iraqi government forces as a part of the CTEF program.
The US-led coalition has been busy promoting its assistance for Iraqi government forces in what appears to be an attempt to justify its presence in the country.
