The Iraqi army and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) have conducted a successfull military operation against the ISIS terrorist group in the area of Shirqat, located north of the ISIS last stronghold in Iraq, Mosul. The army and the PMU pushed ISIS terrorists from the areas along the Tigris (green at the map) and almost secured the strategic town of Shirqat. Some resistance of ISIS is still reported in eastern Shirqat. However, it will be overcomed in the nearest future.
