Hashd al-Shaabi, the Iraqi popular forces, have killed several commanders of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group during a special operation in Nineveh province.
Several commanders of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group were killed by the Iraqi popular forces, also known as Hashd al-Shaabi, during a high-risk operation in the province of Nineveh.
Movings of IS leaders in the western parts of Tal Afar city were monitored by special units of Hashd al-Shaabi during several weeks of intelligence operations, after which terrorists were killed in surprise attacks. Fighters of the Iraqi popular forces managed to infiltrate hideouts of terrorists in the northern part of al-Sharia village and kill ISIS commanders without being noticed. After the operation, Hashd al-Shaabi units safely left the terrorists’ den.
On Sunday, Mohammad al-Basri, a senior commander of the Iraqi popular forces also said that supply routes of the IS are being disconnected one after another from the west part of Mosul city to the Syrian border.
“The Iraqi joint military forces plan to cut off all the supply routes of the ISIS terrorist group from the western flank of Mosul towards Syria’s border regions, where Tal Afar region plays a strategic role,” al-Basri told the Fars news agency.
“The Iraqi volunteer forces have started its operation to win back villages and towns, located in the northern part of the Tal Afar airport, and advance towards the Iraqi-Syrian border, after the recapture of Tal Abta, located to the west of Tal Afar,” al-Basri added.
Keep it up.
