Iraqi Special Forces troops are currently preparing for a storm of the infamous Al-Nouri Mosque in the central part of western Mosul. According to Iraqi sources, some new tactics and methods will be used in this operation.
Iraqi forces have managed to capture an ISIS militant in the vicinity of the aforementioned mosqu. Counterterrorism forces have reportedly secureed large parts of Yarmouk district and are on the verge of isolating the strategic Old Mosul located to the east.
From its side, the ISIS-linked Amaq news agency published pictures of beheaded Iraqi civilians in Diyala province accused of collaborating with the Popular Mobilization Units. The terror group continued its attack on Rayhaniyah village west of Mosul where it allegedly killed three Iraqi soldiers. ISIS also destroyed an armored vehicle operated by SWAT forces in the Old Industrial district.
Local sources in Mosul report about continued US airstrikes on the Medical Complex in western Mosul.
At the same time, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Abadi accused ISIS of committing massacres in western Mosul and blaming them on the Iraqi Army.
The Iraqi Air Force targeted a military convoy belonging to the ISIS terrorist group moving from the Syrian territory to Iraq. The event became possible due to the continued Syrian and Iraqi military coordination in the border area.
Ayad Al-Jumaili, the Da’ish “Minister of War”(Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi’s 2nd in command) was been killed by the Iraqi Air Force in Qa’im, according to many reports .
