On Wednesday, Iraqi security forces retook the strategic Mosul Dam and its nearby facilities from the Peshmerga, a military force of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
According to Iraqi sources, at least 9 people in clashes between government troops and KRG forces.
Following the incident, a spokesman for the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) said that Ahmed Obeidi, assistant to the head of the PMU Intelligence known as Abu Yasir, was killed in the firefight in the area.

Ahmad al-Asadi said that Obeidi died preventing the attempt “to separate and partition” of Iraq.
Earlier this week, the Iraqi Army took back control over the city of Kirkuk, nearby military and oil installations as well as multiple point sacross Syria.
Now, government forces are expanding their control in the contested areas in the Mosul countryside.

useless waste of resources by the iraqi army…..bravo to the Kurds that managed to save ISIS from defeat. they gave them time to regroup, resupply etc. The Iraqis are wasting precious time and resources on a typical procedure that should have been concluded in an official ceremony in a couple of hours…the Kurdish would hand over the territories they liberated from ISIS to the Iraqi government and thats it….return to were they have been since 2003 and live happily ever after…..stupid, arrogant, puppets…
