On December 12, a convoy moving logistic supplies and equipment for the US-led coalition came under attack in Iraq’s western region
An improvised explosive device struck the convoy as it was passing near the area of al-Karama in the province of al-Anbar. A newly-formed group calling itself “al-Sabiqun” claimed responsibility for the attack.
Al-Sabiqun is one of several pro-Iranian Shiite armed groups which emerged in Iraq following the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of the Popular Mobilization Units, and Iran’s Quds Force Commander Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani.
In a statement, the group claimed that the convoy was moving “sensitive military equipment” to Ain al-Assad Air Base which was supposedly evacuated by the US-led coalition.

Less than twelve hours earlier, two rockets were fired at the highly-fortified Green Zone in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, where the US embassy is located.
Iraqi security sources told RT that one of the rockets was intercepted by the US C-RAM [Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar] system, while the other hit the victory square without causing any real losses. The rocket attack may have been carried out by pro-Iranian forces.

Iraq’s National Security Advisor announced on December 9 that the US-led coalition had ended its combat missions in the country. The announcement was a part of a US plan to rebrand its fairly large military presence in Iraq as a “training mission”.
The US plan is not working, however. Pro-Iranian forces continue to demand a complete withdrawal of US forces from Iraq before the year’s end.
They gave USA until 31St to leave. I wonder if they’ll directly attack their base if they don’t.
They should have attacked it already.

So what damage was caused or was it another case of sending up a cloud of dust and scaring the drivers or are they so used to it now they just shrug their shoulders and carry on . All in a days work. They need to get ISIS in to teach them how to do a proper job. That would be fitting ..
