Early on April 23, ISIS cells carried out a “surprise attack” on a position of Iraqi Kata’ib Hezbollah (KH) in the vicinity of al-Mayadin city in the southern countryside of Syria’s Deir Ezzor, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
“Heavy clashes erupted between the two sides, as a result, two Iraqi KH [fighters] were killed while five other members were injured, they were transported to the Fatimah al-Zahra hospital in al-Mayadin,” the London-based monitoring group said in a report.
Following the attack, Iranian-backed forces and the Syrian National Defense Forces (NDF) sent large reinforcements to the vicinity of al-Mayadin.
The “surprise attack” was apparently launched from the Homs desert. Hundreds of ISIS terrorists are reportedly taking shelter in the region, which lays between eastern Homs and western Deir Ezzor.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the NDF are now carrying out a large-scale combing operation in the eastern Homs countryside. Government forces could soon launch a similar operation in western part of Deir Ezzor, thus clearing all areas surrounding the Homs desert.
Hardly a surprise, the Americunt losers are re-branding and rearming their terrorists in both Syria and Iraq. The bastards are dying like dogs in the streets thanks to their coronavirus but creating havoc for their Jew cunt masters.
SOHR is not a reliable source!..ISIS dont carry surprise attacks vs Iraq Hezbollah because fear them!…only did these attacks vs NDF or SAA outpost!…Iraq PMU have launched military op vs ISIS days ago..and probably there are some casualties among PMU…but ISIS is defending itself vs Shia PMU..not attacking and taking iniciative…the meaning is diferent!

That’s right, just keep combing the desert areas of Homs, that’s great, but since most of the Isis fighters are actually hiding out in southern Deir ez Zor right now, it means they aren’t going to find too many in Homs. What’s really needed now is Russian aircraft and SAA soldiers to be stationed in Deir ez Zor itself, that’s the only way the Syrians can get rid of Isis, go cut the snakes head off and the tail will eventually die. Iran, Hezbollah and the NDF don’t know how to chop a snakes head off, but SAA soldiers and the Russian Airforce do, let them do the job in Deir ez Zor if the Iranians, Hezbollah and the NDF can’t or won’t. Why aren’t Russian planes allowed to attack Isis positions in southern Deir ez Zor, why is that the only place in Assad controlled territory that the Russian’s can’t go, anybody know the answer, I do, come one, someone else prove they have some intelligence, explain why it is Russian aircraft can’t [or won’t] operate over southern Deir ez Zor anymore.
Those are the smart ones that made off with the most money so can afford to pay for protection.
I wonder how many ISIS supply trucks raced past the outposts while the defenders had their heads down to avoid incoming fire?
Someone attacked but it was not Daesh. ISIS does not exist any longer, it is just a convenient excuse for the US to stay in Iraq and Syria. Anyone can wear a badge of a dead organisation – means nothing. SOHR is a misinformation site and this is how they do it. Making it up that Daesh is still around. The real question is – who attacked? And who do they work for? My hunch is the saudis.
