On November 1, Iraqi forces liberated the strategic Kurdish village of Gogjali in the Mosul eastern countryside and seized the nearby state-TV buidling. Gogjali is highly integrated into Mosul’s infrastructure and located at an important highway leading to the ISIS-controlled city. The village will likely become a foothold for the storm of Mosul from the eastern direction. On November 2, Iraqi forces, supported by the US-led coalition, continued operations in the area. The wide-scale storm of Mosul is expected to be launched within a week.
