The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), a state-sponsored coalition of various militias fighting ISIS, took control of the area of Badush near the city of Tal Afar in the province of Nineveh and encircled this ISIS stronghold localted west of Mosul.
Now when Tal Afar is fully encircled by PMU forces, the city will likely be liberated from ISIS in the nearest future.

Tal Afar is a strategic city located 63 km west of Mosul. Its total population is about 80,000 people [mostly Iraqi Turkmen], according to the recent estimates.
