Iraqi Prime Minister: Soleimani Arrived In Baghdad To Receive De-Escalation Proposal From Saudi Arabia. Trump Supported Initiative

A demonstrator holds a picture of Qassem Soleimani during a protest against his assassination [West Asia News Agency/Nazanin Tabatabaee/Reuters]

On January 5, Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi reportedly provided additional details into the US assassination of the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Qods Force, Qassem Soleimani.

According to the available data, the Iranian commander arrived in Baghdad under an official request from Iraq. He was set to receive de-escalation proposals that Saudi Arabia sent to Iran via Iraq. US President Donald Trump allegedly supported this idea during a phone call with the Iraqi Prime Minister.

Therefore, the US supposedly used this initiative to set a trap for the Iranian military commander and assasinate him.

HINT:. President Donald Trump spoke over phone with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on December 31 after demonstrators stormed the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

If these developments are confirmed, this will be another indication of the destructive behaviour of the modern United States. Washington has been violating international laws and breaking deals that it signs on a regular basis. Now, any negotiations that involve or linked with the United States also may pose a threat to representatives of the parties involved.

If they organized this perfidy, the idea could only have started from Mossad.

Saso Mange

True. Those rats are the only side which can profit from this. Alto they will regret this at the end.

d'Artagnan

Zionist agenda is to keep constant war in the region going on as it deflects from its illegal and unsustainable occupation of Palestine. There were reports that Saudi puppets were seeking to end their humiliation in Yemen and seek a modus vivendi with Iran. The Zionists used their narcissistic coward Trump to kill any chances of peace in the region. This is not going to end well for the US and least of all the Zionists.

Karen Bartlett

Inshallah. God willing.

King Cliff

Well the little idiot king Salman is a dead men and most of his entourage if this is true.

swedish_viking

Why? First this extremely serious allegation needs to be confirmed, right now it’s just a twitter post with serious claims. Second i don’t think Saudi Arabia would have been informed even if it turns out to be true.

Z.P.

I almost agree with everything. Except that Saudi Arabia would not have been informed… Why? Because they would “leak” the information to Iranians? Because they are too incompetent to be part of such operation? It’s not as if Suadi’s would not be happy to do it…. They can even make fake claim that they did propose that to some corrupt Iraqi politician but were not expecting that Salman will be assassinated. Of course nobody would believe them.

swedish_viking

What would USA gain by informing SA about there plans before there executed? That would only allow for unnecessary complications. What if Iran listen in on the Saudi communications or many other things that could endanger the operation. I think the attack was only known to a minimal amount of people on a need to know basis.

Z.P.

Good points, sound thinking ! I don’t know which (Saudi ) asshole have down voted you. Some people are strange.

swedish_viking

If people doesn’t dislike you for something you said then maybe you never said anything of value. I’m proud of my dislikes. :D

United states is such a coward nation.

Jennifer Tomlinson

We as a people ate not. How the current White House occupant managed to weasel in is open to debate. He does NOT represent what most of us want not how we feel.

frankly

Unfortunately watching Hollywood movies does not instill an accurate measure of a people. Nor listening to the rants of arm chair warriors and Sunday sports wannabees. In retrospect even JFK was more foolhardy than courageous. RFK downright naïve.

Given the number of our boys who go off to be killed, the utter lack of a US antiwar protest movement is an ample measure of courage. What are we afraid of? Hyper fascism with modern tools, well yeah!

Of course our real attitude on the serfs who fund our endless profitable wars by sacrificing themselves and their children, is amply displayed by how Tulsi Gabbard is rewarded for her service. I include myself in this serfdom.

I would say the missing ingredient is knowledge. Most Americans, with power, are more worried about keeping up/fitting in with the Jones and sustaining their plate of addictions.

With the divided nature of the US right now it will be fascinating to watch the media stir the pot on only the latest campaign to ensure the Empire survives. Is it really that important to sacrifice ourselves for corporate profit? Yet on it goes. Will our warriors have much heart when we have, without a doubt, asked for it?

jhawk620

From this day forward, NEVER trust a USA proposal or proffered agreement. A double-cross perpetrated at the highest levels of the USA government, POTUS, tells you ‘that by way of deception, we wage war’. …sounds familiar, right?

Redadmiral

Indeed it does. Pompeo: “We lied, we cheated, we stole.” In that public interview he obviously omitted; “we torture, we rape, we murder and plunder too”

Raptar Driver

This should have been obvious for many decades.

d'Artagnan

US shameful “history” is one of banditry, lies, broken treaties, violence, racism, slavery and every venal depraved behavior, so expecting a rogue state in total control of Zionists to behave with any basic form of decency is simply not possible. US and Zionists only understand the logic of force and resistance. The disgraceful and illegal assassination of General Soleimani who was basically a diplomat soldier will only hasten US demise and expulsion from the region.

Z.P.

United Snakes

If it wasn’t published on Twitter Trump will deny everything including that he knows his wifes name.

AJ

Wow killing an envoy in effect on a diplomatic meeting with the Iraqi PM. Treacherous.

Marcus Porcius Cato

This is the same outfit that thought nothing of torpedoing their own allies’ oil tankers last summer while they were negotiating.

Ricky Miller

Right. I read a report today that U.S. warships have retreated to 1000km or so from Iran. The U.S. feels brave enough to attack an unarmed convoy of vehicles leaving the airport but want no part of mixing it up with Iranian anti-ship missiles. Oh, misters. You sooooo brave.

Marcus Porcius Cato

The US Navy is not prepared in any way for an all-out war. Their officers have worried for years that catastrophic losses will destroy crew morale and leave them unable to carry on. Trump brags about “beautiful new weapons,” but the ships of his navy cannot deploy without cannibalizing parts from ships coming back from their deployments. He made the same moronic boasts about the missile attack on Damascus, and most of his missiles were shot down.

FlorianGeyer

And a serious warcrime to add to the long list of US and Israeli warcrimes.

Johnboy4546

I believe the correct word is “perfidy”, not “treachery”.

Karen Bartlett

No, I think treachery is the correct word, since the US arranged or asked for the meeting, leading Iraq and Iran to believe the US was interested in peace. Perfidy is simple deceitfulness. Treachery adds an element of betrayal.

Jake321

Whatever. The Islamist Iranian SOB and friends are gone. That’s all that matters.

Ricky Miller

Fuck You. Again. It’s Sunni’s that keep attacking people in the West but our government keeps making villains out of Shia trying to defend themselves. And your pea brain buys it, rejoices in murder and Americans by the millions wonder why everyone hates us and why our lives get worse and worse. My vote here in Ohio for Trump in 2016 was a mistake. I’ll be correcting that here in a few months. And they’ll want to prosecute him for any number of ridiculous reasons and I’m jumping on that bandwagon. He’s a war criminal. Oh, and FUCK YOU some more.

Marcus Porcius Cato

His disgusting, Jewish bragging shows him as the Satanic scum that he is. No one will shed a tear for the real 6 million Jews that will die in revenge for yet another war that they started.

FlorianGeyer

I certainly won’t shed a tear anyway. :)

Not even of laughter.

Jake321

The Israeli part I’ll buy. Matters not about the Saudis. Anyway, it worked. YEH!

Lonesome Cowboy Burt

Just block the damn fool. Why let them get your blood pressure up or ruin your mood? I don’t owe these trolls a damn thing.

Mary Myers

But Bibi just said that Israel had nothing to do with the assassination of the Iranian General and others. He said Israel should not get involved in this dispute.

PZIVJ

A government website was reportedly altered on Saturday to depict an image of President Trump bleeding from his month while getting punched in the face by a person wearing Islamic Revolutionary Guard symbol. https://thehill.com/policy/defense/476837-government-website-altered-to-show-pro-iran-message-and-photo-of-bloodied

Jake321

WOW, those big bad Islamist Iranians sure know how to take effective revenge.

Ricky Miller

Fuck You. War Pig. Red, White and Blue cowards.

Redadmiral

This War Crime becomes even more Horrendous. Trump has to be arrested, cuffed, manacled, hudded and transported to Jail in the Hague to stand Trial. This would by far be the Best possible Solution to this heinous act by a known draft dodger and coward.

Jake321

Well, get to it already.

Ricky Miller

That’s what elections are for. We need a Democratic President who will stand up to the Washington war machine, like Trump promised to do when he asked for our vote. After the election the left wing of the Democratic party will have more pull than ever in a Democratic Party likely to control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. There are a whole bunch of things they’ve done to violate Federal Law, International treaties and there will be investigations led by a real Attorney General. We’ll get to it then.

Paul

Problem is Ricky, the two party system is only a ploy used by those in power to divide and conquer. Obama and Clinton were war mongers just as much as Bush and Bush jnr. Only a revolution can save the United States.

Mehmet Aslanak

Trump didn’t know rebel generals in Pentagon planned to assassinate Iranian general along Iraqi military officers. Afterall no general wants peace. That’s why Pluto said government must be on hand of civilians, not on hand of military officers.

Dawn

It is one possibility..

Jake321

Whatever. It was a damn good hit.

Ricky Miller

That’s what people in Iran will say after they kill several high ranking American officers. Say, somewhere in Europe or Oman. Or Armenia. Maybe even a U.S. Ambassador. Once you open up this can of worms you invite nothing but chaos.

Marcus Porcius Cato

This Jake twit has no moral compass, and he parades his evil personality on a daily basis. His sole filter: Is it good for the Jews?

אהרון

General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al Muhandis are responsible for killing several hundred Americans. At what point do we label these two men legitimate targets?

Ricky Miller

The original 2003 invasion of Iraq was illegal. There was no security council resolution authorizing it. Iran helped arm Shia militias to defend themselves from occupation. In Syria, the United States helped to arm Jihadi street gangs in an effort to overthrow the Syrian government. Iran’s IRGC helped to arm Shia militia’s to fight U.S. proxy groups. Document a single instance of a uniformed Iranian officer killing an American officer? There is a reason they wear a uniform with a flag on it. There are rules created by treaties on how states treat uniformed personnel of other states and killing one in an unarmed motor vehicle is so far outside those rules it amounts to murder. And to boot, to do it in a third party country who had invited said victim on an official visit, and declined to confirm permission for a strike that killed it’s own citizens? How is any of this hard to understand? You want to kill him, legally and honorably? Declare War, line up and beat his guys. What they did is cowardly and will lead to the deaths of American military personnel, all without our representatives in Congress providing constitutionally mandated permission.

אהרון

You shared many opinions of the situation in both Iraq and Syria but you didn’t actually answer my question.

Both Soleimani and Muhandis were self described enemies of the U.S. and were responsible for killing several hundred Americans. At what point do we label these two men legitimate targets? Never?

Ricky Miller

The two men would share different legal protections, I would think. The Iraqi officer is protected in his own country by being a recognized militia commander now a part of the structure of the Iraqi armed forces. There is no permission in the host agreement for American force to be used against Iraqi citizens not a part of ISIS. This entire conflict is now about the United States trying to expand the fight against ISIS into a fight against the Shia, without authorization from the Iraqi government, the UN Security Council or the government of Syria. So the killing of Iraqi’s not ISIS would be illegal, period. The killing of an Iranian officer would be out of bounds without a declaration of war, period. I reject your assertion that they’ve killed hundreds of Americans. They have armed and trained militia that have fought against American proxies and for the most part been killed in American drone strikes trying to expand the ISIS war to the Shia. The part about Shia militias being terrorists is propaganda to villify them for standing up for themselves.

אהרון

Well, there you have it. You rationalize your position by rejected the fact that each man is responsible for killing several hundred Americans without, it should be noted, a formal declaration of war from either Iraq or Iran.

God bless the U.S. Air Force and the MQ-9 Reaper.

Ricky Miller

Reports here, by American military officers speaking to the NYT is that the military is stunned by Trump’s decision and do not support it. They carried out their orders but say that the decision was made while Trump was pissed about the U.S. Embassy siege in Baghdad. A siege that killed no one and came about because of U.S. strikes on Iraqi Shia. Your “hundreds of killed Americans” is a well practiced fiction. In American and Israeli logic the other guy is some out of control threat and a ten foot goliath and yet the enemy does 99% of the dying and your forces fly over their countries, and destroy things on the ground in their societies. Victims made villains via talking points. Fuck Off, war pig. A new political movement is dawning in America, our time is coming and the days of endless reaper drones, foreign wars and endless military assistance to Israel will all be done by the end of this decade. Mark it, thug.

אהרון

I’m sorry to be so blunt but you’re simply whining over the deaths of people you happen to support. People who identify themselves as enemies of the U.S..

“The” American military is stunned and don’t support this action? Come now. Why not be honest here by acknowledging that the American military is not one monolithic point of view and that many current and former military personnel and intelligence officials have already come forward to both support and denounce the deaths of Soleimani and Muhandis? Put another way, if you truly believe in your position, why do you feel the need to be disingenuous?

Ricky Miller

That’s a quote from the article. Dickhead. “American officers involved in the decision were left simply stunned. When they presented it they never thought the President would actually choose it.” And to the point, we are not at war with Iran. Our Congress has authorized actions against Sunni groups, ISIS and al-Qaida not Shia militias or Iran. The deep state here in the USA has tried to make this a war against Syria’s government and against Shia militias supporting Syria’s government. That’s illegal which is why the House is introducing a resolution to restrict Trump’s actions.

אהרון

That’s twice now that you’ve misquoted the Times. Perhaps on your third attempt you’ll find your way to getting it right?

Paul

God does not bless your war machine. Amercia is not Old Testament Israel. You are greatly mistaken.

Paul

Is that the truth or misinformation?

אהרון

It’s not difficult to verify that both Soleimani and Muhandis described themselves as enemies of the U.S.. In my case I’ve followed the careers and rhetoric of each man over many years. If authentically interested you can work backwards and do the same.

Lonesome Cowboy Burt

Plato, you mean to say?

Ricky Miller

It’s premeditated murder, then. If the U.S. chain of command knew that he was arriving in Baghdad for an invited meeting with Iraq’s Prime Minister and on a diplomatic task that they had offered support for it would make anyone who knew these details and participated in the decision making or execution of strike orders guilty of first degree murder.

Jake321

Under whose laws? And will you be the one to try to enforce them? War is war, even if undeclared, and military leaders are always fair game. Actually, since he was the head of a listed terrorist organization no more legally needed to off him.

Ricky Miller

It is a clear violation of the agreement between Iraq and the United States. It is also a violation of U.S. code. There is no war declaration or authorization of force act approved by Congress to fight Iran, it’s uniformed officers, or to violate written agreements with a third party. Iraq had invited the General to respond to a Saudi diplomatic proposal so his visit would have been covered by immunity. And Iraqi citizens were killed including a driver. Iraq declined to authorize the strike and it was carried out anyway. That’s murder. A Democratic President after or not Joe Biden will be pressed by many to prosecute the entire chain of command involving this act. And I doubt we’ll see any Pompeo or Pence or Trump impromptu visits to Iraq anytime soon.

Jake321

Prove in court that the story is true first. And since Biden is the only Dem with even a prayer of beating Trump, don’t hold your breath. More importantly, we should be most concerned with how rational the Islamist Iranians are. If they act out their Red Flag Vengeance, I truly feel sorry for the Iranian people.

Ricky Miller

It’s all about escalation dominance. The United States has carried out a state murder of uniformed personnel, on a state visit in a non military vehicle. They are leaving it to Iran to start a destructive war in response, gambling that they won’t. Iran has the option of being smart and turning it around. Say a U.S. general is flying in a helicopter from point A to point B somewhere in Afghanistan. Just shoot down the helicopter, and then take down the red flag. The onus is now on the Trump Administration. Attack Iran and watch the widespread destruction across the Middle East from Iran’s missile forces. There is not and won’t be support for that in the U.S. or anywhere across the Middle East. The economic damage alone will be enormous.

אהרון

I’m sorry but you throw up far too many assumptions.

Johnboy4546

” War is war, even if undeclared, and military leaders are always fair game.”

If this report is true – and, apparently, it is since it is coming from the Iraqi PM himself – then this is an act of “perfidy”, and that is not only a serious war crime under international humanitarian law it is also a serious violation of the US military code.

Jake321

That will really help put the Islamist Iranian SOB back together. Now take it to court and prove your case. Again, what court?

Ricky Miller

International Court of Justice. The U.S. will feel so confident in their actions that they won’t participate or show up. But another kind of court has already decided. The court of international public opinion. The U.S. administration is a pariah across the board today. It will affect the ability of the United States to achieve other policy priorities. Even President Erdogan in Turkey says Iran must respond.

אהרון

General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al Muhandis were self-professed enemies of the United States. These were “clean kills”.

Ricky Miller

They were self professed enemies of America’s actions in the region. Especially the widespread targeting of Syrian and Iraqi Shia militias by American drones and aircraft, all in a pretense of fighting ISIS but actually an illegal proxy war to pressure the Syrian government. Opposing the United States doesn’t make one a targetable combatant, absent a legal declaration of hostilities. These kills will be investigated in Iraq as murder, under Iraqi law. And when an American officer or officers are killed in reprisal it will be investigated as an illegal act outside Congressional authorization in the United States also. Our Constitution makes the President Commander in Chief but places the authority to engage in warfare solely in the hands of our Congress. The use of force authorization is to fight Al-Queda and ISIS, not kill uniformed personnel of a foreign military, in a third country, especially when that third country declined permission for a violent act on it’s territory. Again, none of this is hard to understand.

אהרון

I’m fairly certain you understand that if one declares one’s self an enemy of any nation and kill said nation’s soldiers and civilians one makes one’s self a legitimate target, no matter which side you happen to personally support.

Ricky Miller

By this act the U.S. has clearly said that they are an enemy of Iran. An American officer or officers will be killed in reprisal. They’ll be considered legitimate targets.

אהרון

That’s right.

Karen Bartlett

Says an Israeli, to whom unarmed women, children, medics and journalists are “legitimate targets”. Nobody here cares what murderous scum think.

אהרון

A. I’m a Texan B. You have a grasp on a good many myths bandied about on the Internet C. Of course you care what I think. Otherwise you wouldn’t have taken the time to reply

Do you support Russia’s involvement in Syria?

Paul

Myths on the internet, lol. The systematic removal of the Palestinian people from their country of origin by force is fact.

אהרון

You touch on an entirely different subject quite apart from what I had written.

Raptar Driver

Again, why does any normal person believe a word that comes from our proven deceitful government?

Jim Bim

Prime Minister Abdul Mahdi said that the United States informed Iraq about the plans to target the commander several minutes before the attack. He added that the Iraqi authorities gave no such permission. The Prime Minister revealed that he was scheduled to meet with Soleimani the same morning the general was killed in an airstrike in Baghdad. Why did the Prime Minister not warn the convoy of the imminent attack?

Jake321

Good question. Guess not all Iraqis are on board with being pushed around by Islamist Iranian outsiders.

Wes Wemyss

The Iranians were invited into Iraq to deal with ISIS because the Iraqi army, trained by and in the image of the US army, ran away.

Marcus Porcius Cato

Yes, they ran away, just like EVERY puppet army that the Yankistanis have ever armed and trained. South Korea, South Vietnam, Afghan National Army, post-Saddam Iraqi Army, the Syrian “moderate rebels”, etc. It’s really pathetic how useless the Yankistanis are in creating auxiliaries.

Jake321

That attitude is about to get a great many of your friends killed.

Jake321

So? The US is there legally also.

FlorianGeyer

A few minutes is little time to do anything really in a situation like this.

Jim Bim

Enough time to make a call…….unless you dont know how to use a phone.

FlorianGeyer

I doubt that Prime Ministers etc actually would have a book of phone numbers. They have flunkies to answer phones etc.

Jim Bim

your respons is pathetic. The general together with the Iraqi nr. 2 top militia commander where on their way to meet the PM at 8.30.

Jake321

I really thought the Iranians were way smarter. Only idiots could have fallen for this trap. Or arrogant SOB’s in need of this treatment.

Jim Bim

yes, very naive, no wonder Parlament had demanded the Iraqi PM to resign before the attack, he was accused of being a US puppet.

FlorianGeyer

I answered you with a polite reply and you could just have disagreed .

Its for you to fuck off. Goodbye.

Johnboy4546

“Why did the Prime Minister not warn the convoy of the imminent attack?”

Why would you expect the Iraqi PM’s office to have a direct line of communication with a car belonging to the PMU? Sure, he could eventually be able to pass on a warning, but not when he only had “several minutes before the attack”, some of which he had to spend arguing with the Americans not to carry out the strike.

Regardless, I would bet good money that the USA did not ring Abdul Mahdi until they were certain that the Predator drone already had those cars in its cross-hairs, so no amount of warning could have saved those men.

Jim Bim

Maybe you have not noticed, but smartphones have been invented.

Jake321

Good to know. And good hit. However, consequences maybe not so good. We should know fairly soon. For the sake of the Iranian people, I hope their leadership is more rational than that of our moron Prez.

Jake321

LOL…if this is so, it proves beyond any doubt that our Moron Prez had nothing to do with this. He’s simply way too stupid to come up with such a brilliant move. But it does show that that dead Islamist Iranian SOB was way dumber than folk said he was to have fallen for it. In any case, it was a good day.

Otto310

All “it proves beyond any doubt”, is the yanks are Israel´s bitches. It was perhaps “a good day”, but not in the way you perceive events.

Never interfer with morons when they are digging their own grave, like this HasbaRats, I may coment them ocationaly, but usualy, just ignores them, their agenda is to divert and obfusicate, and thats it, of course they are deranged, we know that, but this morons are payed by the coment they write, so some of them are of course highly active, but dont bother to fight them, the just dragg you down to their stupid level and beat you with exprience.

Never ever trust the Americans, they are insane and evil, killing an peace effort by louring the people involved to amush the envoi, yeah, typical ISISrael tactics, used several times to provoce an respons and this just shows how rotten they trully are. Yeah, nothing surpirces me anymore, threatening nations after nations, from Germany, to even some whom wanted Sweden bombed because of an ASSApe, yeah, and now this, yup, was the Saudis on board this, we know ISISrael/Brits was and certanly UssA, and on top of it, the western Gov whom managed to drool something about legitimasy, yeah, Brits, I have to remind you about the Cilcot report but hey, whom the f…. cares about facts this days in an port-truth world, the Germs of course with Mutti Morekill was drooling the same narrative, nice huh, and the Norwegians etc is doing the same, 15 years of warfare, and they stil lie about everything incl the reason.

https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20171123122743/http://www.iraqinquiry.org.uk/the-report/

When it comes to Libya, the truth is, they lied about even more, witch means they lied about everything, and whatever you know, it just lies, from HRW/AmnInt to the MSM, they lied about everything, never forget that when you read something that is based upon whatever they say or report, to the rotten ICC etc and whats much wurse is infact the UN, and now we have an POS from Portugal whom is corrupted to the core, read the Chilcot report and learn. The insane level of nonsense in the western aka UssA MSM from QS was singlehanded behind 9/11 to the 52 taken in the Ambasy in the Iranian revolution, after the UssA instaled their bitch, and the 52 werent even harmed other than taken as “hostages”, so I have no idea of what this Organe morons thinks when he drools something about 52 uh… And the Pompeous thing, is an gift that keeps giving, and He will never even realise that, and the idiot propaganda He serves is meant for even dumber Yankikes and thinks it works in europa, apart from the Yankike hooligans nobody belives Him anyway, but let the man talk, He is an raving loonie and everybody knows that.

Think about this Iraqis, the sole reason for not been able to defeat ISIS/Whatever, is because of the western forces aka ZATO, and the Yankikes whom bombed sand dunes for years in Syria, and if any Syrian force came to close, the UssA bombed them to make em stop, and that have been ongoing for years, incl inside Iraq, and what do you think would happen the day you throw them out, huh, be worse, no way, when most of the land/s is more or less cleaned, whats stands between now and victory is the UssA/Trump, and like the Syrians, the problem is UssA and Turks, you have to deal with them first, and the day they are gone, no airforce whom threatens your forces, and so on, is the day the ISIS will go down. I dont doubt that the day UssA is gone, is the day ISIS will die, and Iraq/Syria reborn. WE will pray for you all and hope that this will be the future.

BUT, I am almost 100% certain there will come an FF, either inside the UssA, where of course by an divine miracle an spottless Iranian pass port would be found where the terroract would occure, of course or by other means as the continuing bombing of Uncle Samules forces incl the ZATO.

Anytime, anywhere, and you simply cant rest, because somebody dont like the developement if there isnt going to be an war, the same people whom did this to QS even when the UssA asked for it and amushed Him.

WE are dealing with evil people, the insane UssA.
