IRGC Commander Vows Even ‘Harsher Revenge’ After Iranian Strikes On US Bases In Iraq

As the diplomatic posture of the United States and Iran demonstrate signs of de-escalation, a senior comander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Abdollah Araghi, said that his country would take “harsher revenge soon”.

According to Tasnim news agency, he did not specify what that might entail. The announcement took place a day after the Iranian missile strike on US bases in Iraq and goes contrary to remarks by Iranian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Majid Takht-Ravanchi that Iran won’t take any new military steps if there is no US aggression.

IRGC Deputy Head Ali Fadavi described the Iranian attack on US forces as a display of the Islamic Republic’s military capabilities claiming that the US “couldn’t do a damn thing” about the strikes.

Iran & Iraqi Shiite allies should focus ALL their power and energy to removing U$ terror force from Iraq. That is the greatest revenge for the assassination of Gen. Suleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, the leader of Kataib Hezbolah of Iraq.

ruca

That’s exactly what they are doing.

Gabriel Hollows

Pretty sure they’re just saving face for getting their general killed.

ruca

Keep your eyes on the red flag.

Luis

The show of force without casualties and minimal damage was in fact a pure pr stunt. The Iranians called the Iraqis who send a warning to the Americans. All in sight of a possible deescalation, if te USA is willing to leave the region. The pentagon knows that total war would be a disaster and impossible to win without going nuclear.

wwinsti

Even if true, your point doesn’t alter the fact that Iran hit a US drone base with enough accuracy to destroy several selective buildings. Fine, Iran provided some warning. Is that something they have to do? Tehran can assassinate anyone they suspect of being at the right time and place. Not doing so is a show of restraint on their part, not weakness.

Luis

No idea if tue, but confirmed by Adil Abdul Mahdi, Iraq’s prime minister. Btw. what’s the point? I didn’t mention any weakness, nor have criticised the accuracy of missiles… have you understood what I’ve written?

wwinsti

Apologies, my response was pointed a G. Hollows.

Gabriel Hollows

What, they’ll bomb more empty buildings? Iran may have saved face with the dumb masses who actually believed the 80 dead statistic, but anyone with a brain knows these staged PR stunts will not kick the US out of the region.

For all intents and purposes, Soleimani has yet to be avenged, though I’m starting to think this ‘revenge’ was less about him and more about the good image of the Iranian government.

IMHO

I’m convinced their was an agreement with the U.S. to pull off this charade.

Joe Kerr

Why would helicopters be stationed near “empty” buildings?

IMHO

LOL. “Harsher revenge?” What are they going to do next, launch missiles at a lemonade stand? But warn them beforehand of course. What a joke.

John

The lemonade stand, inside of some US HQ from what I see developing.

Free man

“The powerful and brave mullah regime will throw Zionist Americans out of Iraq and the all Middle East. The mullahs regime will also use its immense power to bomb Washington and the International Space Station, which is essentially a Zionist American colony.” Naa, I’m just joking. If the the mullahs are allowed, I am allowed too.

Z.P.

Talk the talk and walk the walk…always! One can’t lower the volume suddenly when it is time to act. Iran should have been much more moderate in their threats to stay in proportion of their “revenge”…. This is good bye for me…. I had enough of this bullshit. I have respect for Iranian people and late general…but not so much for all the others any longer. I don’t expect everybody to agree, but this is the way how I feel about all that.

Gabriel Hollows

Yeah, the way they’ve used his death for political gain is disgusting.

Joe Kerr

Any political gain to Iran was achieved by the U.S. when it disgustingly droned him at Baghdad airport.

Ewan

Take it easy : https://blogfactory.co.uk/2020/01/09/israeli-reporters-account-silenced-after-post-on-us-casualties/

Z.P.

224 soldiers would make 70-80 killed or similar… 224 soldiers wounded can’t be hidden if it is truth. If it doesn’t come to the surface eventually, than it is not the truth. Nobody can hide so many dead and wounded forever.

Joe Kerr

Hiding the truth, spinning lies… that’s what the corrupted foundations of JewSA have been built on, ever since Lincoln was assassinated. Could be wrong, but my guess is that the IRGC will take out someone like Pompeo as payback… but this needs planning.

Aleks Chernyy

Iran did the smart thing, not retaliating, better than getting goaded into war by the Dotards warmongering minions. Yeah, looking like a tough guy is nice, but not worth the utter destruction of the country. What are you people talking about? The self control Iran exercised was incredible, and shows a level of sophistication beyond the ghouls who killed an envoy to start a war.

I think the Iranian missile strike was stupid. Wouldn’t have done it, would have left them wondering, but there are always elements that need to be pacified.

Free man

But why are they talking so much? Why all these empty threats all the time? Do they think the Iranian people are so stupid to believe all their B.S? Because people outside Iran don’t seem to believe them (except for some on this site) .

Aleks Chernyy

Its a complicated question, on some level they convince the devoted, on another level, the powerlessness of Iranian situation hurts a prideful people, on another level, Iran can hurt the united states, but must do nothing to avoid annihilation, its a complicated question with many layers of answers.

Assad must stay

well at least they had the balls to do something, unlike russia who the most have done is scare away some israeli or turkish or american jets. this is the first time us military was attacked by an actual country since pearl harbor
