NATO is amassing troops in countries bordering Russia, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Alexander Fomin told media on November 30.
“The NATO member-countries are arming themselves, with troops, heavy and armored vehicles being amassed in the Baltic countries, Poland and other countries under the guise of drills,” Colonel General Fomin said.
Fomin noted that among the countries building up their military presence are the ones that owe a great deal to Russia.
“We lost over 600,000 lives for Poland. Now Poland is the key proponent of that plan and is ready to open a base and three command centers on its soil,” he said.
The US and Poland are openly considering plans to set up a permanent US military base in the country.
In early November, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak approved the schedule for the formation of the fourth regular division of the Polish Army. The 18th Iron Mechanized Division (18. “Żelazna” Dywizji Zmechanizowanej) is to be deployed in the the eastern part of the country, near the borders with Belarus and Ukraine.
Additionally, the US State Department approved the sale of 20 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers to Poland.
These developments as well as the increased number and intensity of NATO drills near Russian borders and the recent Ukraine-provoked escalation in the Black Sea region could be considered as pre-war preparations and provocations on the eastern borders of NATO. According to some experts, the intensity and scale of this activity cannot be explained by ordinary “security efforts” of the military bloc to deter “Russian agression”.
If one takes into account this factors, it could be concluded that the Washington establishment and its proxies within the EU bureaucracy and political elites of eastern European states are openly pushing in the direction of an open agressive war against Russia. This war could be start with a series of provocations in the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov or in Ukraine’s region of Donbass. Recently, former German Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel openly stated that “Ukraine” [in fact the Poroshenko regime and its mastaers] attempted to draw Germany in a war against Russia.
Such a conflict will cause a devastating damage to the entire region and cause millions of deaths, in fact eliminating small nations in the region. Additionally, it will weaken two of the Washington establsihment’s key competitors – the “united Europe” and the Russian Federation. The supra-national Euro-Atlantic elites have repeatedly shown that they don’t care about the cost of actions contributing to their interests. So, they may consider this scenario as “acceptable”. This scenario can be prevented only if the biggest and most influential European states, like Germany, France and Italy, reject it and employ needed mearues to avoid it.
