On September 5, ISIS cells ambushed a convoy of the Iraqi military on the highway between the city of al-Ramadi and the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq. The terrorist group claimed that its fighters destroyed 12 vehicles and killed 4 Iraqi soldiers in the attack.
A day later, a source in the Iraqi military acknowledged that 5 Iraqi soldiers were killed and 11 others were injured in the ISIS attack. According to the source, heavy clashes erupted after the ambush, during which pro-government forces killed several fighters of the terrorist group.
“As a result of the fighting three vehicles were destroyed and the clashes are still ongoing, meanwhile the operations command and the special forces is sending additional forces to resolve the clashes,” the source said, according to the el-Mogaz news outlet.
During the first months of this year, ISIS cells carried out dozens of terrorist attacks against government forces and civilians in western Iraq. However, now the terrorist organization is working to expand its influence in the center of the war torn country, likely to threaten Baghdad.
‘However, now the terrorist organization is working to expand its influence in the center of the war torn country, likely to threaten Baghdad’. Gee that’s funny. Didn’t Iraq’s President say they were defeated back in December last year?! Sorry Iraq, but just like Syria, you are stuck with these guys forever and no matter how hard you fight, they’ll just keep returning and attacking.
As long as the US violates the sovereignties of Middle Eastern countries, these countries will continue to suffer the scourge of terrorism for 2 reasons…. 1) terrorists are supported by the US, Israel and vassals for the benefit of Israel and 2) the plutocrats desire to keep theses states in a continuous state of flux. They’d like to add Iran to the mix of states in chaos. but they’re not quite sure how to keep Israel, that nest of Eastern European peoples masquerading as native Semitic peoples, along with their own military bases and terrorist proxy forces safe.
