In the early hours of September 14, the remaining fighters of ISIS in the area of al-Safa, north of the governorate of al-Suwayda, ambushed a unit of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), which was attempting to advance there, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

Rami Abd al-Rahman, the director of the SOHR, claimed that 21 soldiers of the SAA were killed. However, these claims have not been confirmed by any pro-government source so far.

Following the ambush, the SAA clashed with ISIS fighters and shelled several positions of the terrorist group in al-Safa. Eight members of ISIS were reportedly killed.

A day earlier, the SAA imposed control of several caves, hills and lakes in Qa’a al-Banat and Qabr al-Sheikh Hassan in the northwestern and western parts of al-Safa after heavy clashes with ISIS terrorists.

According to the SOHR, over 244 fighters of ISIS have been killed since the beginning of the battle in al-Suwayda more than a month ago. However, local observers believe that hundreds of other terrorists are still hiding in the heavily fortified area.

Sinbad2

American special forces, fighting for ISIS.

Bill Wilson

Nah. Just some abandoned screwballs that caught a SAA unit by surprise.

Joe Dickson

It is not as if SAA actually practices force protection, they sleep at their posts when they are on high alert.

Sinbad2

You’ve actually seen that?

Joe Dickson

How do you think the Pantsir was destroyed without firing a shot?

Sinbad2

I don’t know, I read it was waiting to be rearmed, but you were there, so why not tell us?

Joe Dickson

They were sleeping at their post in the middle of high alert.

Xanatos

How is this area heavily fortified? It is completely barren. Any fortification is visible to bomb.

Even a fortified base needs to be supplied now and then.

More plausible answer: they are in small caves and regularly receive reinforcements and supplies from the direction of tanf.

al quaida

I think they mean it is naturally fortified due to the volcanic rock formations. The area is supposedly under siege so I don’t know if they’re sneaking supplies in there or surviving off stored supplies.

John Mason

Couple chlorine bombs will have them surrendering very quickly or for an easy turkey shoot.

Ronald

Who’s side are you on John ?

John Mason

Not the terrorists or there supporters. Maybe the chlorine is a bit harsh; how about mustard gas? As long as civilians are safe.

jorge

Well, we never know, and there’s a little chance that perhaps you are in Langley. God day. João.

John Mason

Everybody is an nobody on these forums and anybody can be anybody. Respect your suspicion because I suspect the same about you or any other.

Ronald

Real Warriors hold their own Honor more valuable than anything. Realizing all life is sacred, even your enemy’s, puts one on the path of Life. There is no honor in making your enemy suffer, that is why chemical and biological weapons are banned by international law and agreements. To dishonor oneself and one’s fellow warriors by using these forbidden weapons, is to fall down to the level of these terrorists. It is sad enough that these brainwashed jihadists need to be eliminated.

John Mason

Show no mercy, get put down any way possible.

Ronald

Elimination is necessary, use of poisons that causes prolonged suffering is not. Bombs and bullets generally deliver instant death, that is acceptable. If you enjoy watching your enemy suffer an agonizing death, you are as bad as the terrorists.

John Mason

Can’t see what is happening from a plane nor can one feel sorry for their suffering. Called taking responsibility for your actions, live by the sword; die by the sword. Need to use some thing decent but not like that Novichok, that doesn’t work too good.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

21??? I sure hope not! That is unacceptable!

jorge

People, go to the Syrian Army! All the world needs you there!

Dušan Mirić

I wouldn’t be surprised US or UK spec-op forces are fighting along ISIS there, like they did it along Albanian terrorists 1998/1999

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

hope they all die there

jorge

South Front, error crassus: Rami Abd al-Rahman isn’t the director of the SOHR, as you well know. Please, call the oxen by their real names.
