On October 9, ISIS terrorists attacked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) terrorists in the northern Hama countryside near the southern administrative border of the Syrian Idlib province.
ISIS members that attacked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) allegedly sneaked to northern Hama from the area east of Salamiyah where they had been besieged by the Syrian Army.
The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS seized a dozen of villages from HTS and killed at least 1 HTS member.
ISIS were allegedly in control of Jub Al Tabqalia, Abu Lafa, Nafila, Murjajib, Al Jumlan, Shakushiya, Wadi Zarub, Um Al Fawr, Hasrat, Rasm Al Ahmar, Sarha, Sarha Shamaliya and Al Mostariha when HTS reacted and launched a counter-attack in the area.
HTS claimed that its members destroyed a 23mm gun belonging to ISIS and accused the Syrian government of providing ISIS members a safe passage to northern Hama.
According to reports, an intense fighting is now ongoing there.

Do you remember how upset the US got when the gun-runners on the Lebanese border , the Al Qaeda and ISIS pocket was cleaned out . By creating a “pocket” , it adds to confusion , especially media , and equally important , that pocket can be backed up with new jihadist recruits .

This news sounds to good to be true… Why would ISIS attack HTS, instead of joining them? I doubt they were able to bring their heavy weapons with them… They are imo to small a unit to survive, hemmed in between HTS and SAA. Isn’t this just fake news?
