On March 2, ISIS fighters attacked a checkpoint of the village of Badush, 9km northwest of the city of Mosul in northern Iraq, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq.
Amaq said that ISIS fighters had killed six soldiers of the Iraqi Army and then had withdrawn to their bases.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Military Intelligence announced that it had foiled an ISIS VBIED attack in the village of Bakhur northeast of the city of Tell Afar. Iraqi Military Intelligence serivcemembers captured the VBIED and then detonated it in a safe area, according to Iraqi sources.
Amaq also announced that ISIS fighters had shot down a surveillance blimp of the US-led coalition east of Tikrit in central Iraq. The news agency released photos showing ISIS fighters with the remains of the blimp. However, Amaq didn’t clarify how ISIS fighters had been able to shoot down it.
ISIS maintained a notable presence in Iraq and its fighters are still capable of organizing all sorts of attacks against the Iraqi Army and the US-led coalition to this day.
