On April 28, ISIS fighters attacked several positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the villages of Ashayir, Sukkariyah and al-Hiri in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside with recoilless rifles, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq reported.
These attacks were likely carried out by the besieged ISIS fighters in the Homs desert that’s located between the eastern Homs countryside and the southwestern Deir Ezzor countryside.
The SAA launched a security operation in the eastern part of Homs desert on March 29 in order to counter the threat of ISIS there. On April 27, the SAA finished clearing most of the eastern parts of Homs desert and reached al-Hasyan area.
According to Syrian pro-government activists, the SAA and its allies are planning to launch a large-scale military operation that’s aimed at eliminating the besieged ISIS fighters in the entire desert. However, such an operation will likely not begin before the militants’ pockets south of Damascus city and in the northern Homs countryside are cleared.

I think there’s a level of mistrust between Assad himself and the militia leadership in Deir ez-Zor. Apparently they’re only getting just enough to secure the border and make minor gains.
They need to destroy ISIS there, it should be their first priority, but they simply ignore while they’re rooting themselves and infiltrating behind SAA lines to commit terrorist acts. The more they wait, more terrorist attacks will happen in Syria after the war. Pathetic attitudes of the SAA and Russia and Iran. The Northern Homs rebels weren’t posing a real threat to the SAA…
If only you were a strategist it would have been sooooo different.
Tens of thousands of badly need men to secure a desert that is easily infiltrated by Long Range Desert Group attacks from the US controlled parts of Iraq is not really sensible at this time.
What evidence do you have of that ?
ISIS there is only serving as first tier(more like a shield) proxy to the main Anglozionist proxy forces, the YPG and others in the region. Syrian Arab Army has been holding its position tight since the begining of the war. Time to clear both ISIS and the anglozionist boots on the ground in that region.
This is not a matter for pranks, Naija.
Watch how the US spins a protest against the SDF/ISIS group of which they are assigned to the Syriac Military office for some strange reason.
If only the SAA had the manpower to have enough forces to clear out terrorists in all fronts all over Syria!!!? Why don’t you go and volunteer in the SAA??? They need to replace the tens of thousands of heroes that have died fighting the terrorists, or have been murdered why prisoners of these CIA/NATO/Zionists, Saudis, Qatar, UAE, UK, France, Turkey supported islamist terrorists!!!
every night before going to sleep putin sings ” and Timeeeeee is on my side, yes it is” wait and see what happens as soon as the zionist nato scum terrrorists have been killed and the areas cleared around a. Damascus b. daraa………….ans as mentioned 100´s of times before…there is no army in the east of Syria.SDF/YPG + us,frenck,uk special forces are not an army by a long shot. There are only two armies right now in Syria. The SAA and the Turkish Army.Any direct confrontation by either the SAA or the Turks with the SDF/YPG+SF will lead to a massacre, utterly destruction of the SDF/YPG.Have u forgotten…it took the turks 2 weeks to TOTALLY destroy SDF/YPG in Afrin..which is a mountainous terrain.Army against bunch of terrorists. They the SDF/YPG are only holding the east of Syria because the SAA has and had more important operations to conduct on various battle fields.Be Damascus and its surroundings the most important one.Darra is next.Idlib is contained..like rats in a shoe box…the desert area to the west of deir e zoor..is a pain in the ass, but of no strategic imporatance what so ever…al-tanf area illegally occupied by nato…only one startegic value that of jordan..being able tu use al-tanf as door for terrorists coming in,going out +medical help+weapons supply but for the strategic picture not imporatant right now… So ass soon as SAA has their main fighting force free for action..they will confront the YPG/SDF+SF in the east. And the various people involved will have to choose. The kurds will have to choose between life and death. That simple. If they choose to fight for foreigners, belive me not a kurdish boy over the age of 12 will surive. As for the us,french and british..there choice will be.. send in a true military force either us,french or british(100,000 at least..like I said an army) or retreat. And because in each of these nations they cannot bypass parlament/congress(not like with thosemissile strikes), they wil never ever ever get their population to send their sons to the thousands to syria to die. Thats why putin keeps singing at bedtime ” and Timeeeeeeeeeee is on my side, yes it is”
Isis is getting crushed just outside of Damascus. Therefore Isis’ foreign strategic planners tell them to attack SAA where they can to help morale for Isis roaches getting roasted in south Damascus. All the crap about Assad and SAA leaving their extreme frontiers for easy taking is nothing but an attempt at demoralizing, a psyop, a complementary tactical approach to the attempt to increase Isis morale that I have just stated. On one hand lift Isis spirits, on the other hand try to demoralize SAA by implying they are not being supported by their own government. Keep painting those targets on your own head there Mr. Smegma, you are part of the game apparently.
right on spot
ISIS is getting comfortable there, get some people up there and clear that nest out before they start breeding.
They’re gonna clear that pocket very, vwry soon. This is just because of Americans and poke them to their eye.
They keep that pocket only to have where to transport the ISIS members willing to surrender in the southern Damascus pocket, where it would be much more complicated and harder to fight them till last man, the plan is pressure them to surrender from Damascus, transport them in the desert and annihilate them there, where it would be much easier and harmless.
The world’s most non-existent army, aka ISIS
