ISIS Cells Attack Positions Of Syrian Military In Eastern Al-Suwayda

Illustrative image

On June 29, ISIS cells conducted a hit and run attack on three positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) on the road between the Zalaf dam and the city of al-Suwayda, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq. ISIS said that its fighters burned the three positions and killed nine soldiers of the SAA during the attack.

A day earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that ISIS managed to recapture several positions in the eastern al-Suwayda countryside from the SAA after a successful counter attack. However, these claims are yet to be confirmed.

On June 7, the SAA and its allies launched a military operation to eliminate the ISIS pocket in the eastern al-Suwayda countryside and secured several key areas. Later on June 17, the SAA began the second phase of its operation and managed to besiege the remaining cells of the terrorist group in a narrow mountainous area.

However, it appears that the terrorist organizations took advantage from the pressure on the SAA in the southern governorate of Daraa and resumed its operations against it in eastern al-Suwayda. The SAA will likely launch a third phase of its anti-ISIS operation, once Daraa is secured.

To hunt these guys only special troops or commandos.

Bill Wilson

Nah. I believe the SAA is using units out in that region that showed some promise so are letting them get some actual live-fire experience to hone their skills.

antoun

kill,m all daesh suweida!!

Cedric Hunter

Wonderful. The SAA is certainly winning. I’m happy to see thus.

King Tudor777

Doesn’t the SAA have any other units to fight them? I don’t believe all the useful units are committed to the Dara’a offensive. Destroy these rats before they spread all over syria and kill thousands of innocents!

Smaug

There’s a sense that Syrians can go right on fighting each other like this forever…

Fred

If you cannot stop the pay to the SDF and ISIS mercs from the US-led axis sources to stop the war, then AT LEAST WAKE UP AND EXPOSE WHAT IS GOING ON BY GETTING MERCS WHO HAVE SURRENDERED TO TELL THE WORLD HOW THEY WERE INDUCED TO FIGHT FOR MONEY.

Bill Wilson

Mercenaries don’t have to be induced to fight for money. They chose the side that’s willing to pay the most for their services. The US didn’t pay their FSA recruits much more than the SAA. ISIS paid the most in the beginning then began lowering salaries as they ran short on funds. That’s when ISIS began losing fighters to al-Nusra and HTS who had the ability to pay a higher rate for their services and expertise.

Richard M

Bashi Bazouk like HTS and Daesh fight for plunder and the psychotic enjoyment of rape, torture and murder.

Those aren’t arabs under those turbans

You can call me Al

I went back to the picture after your comment – yes, I totally agree with you.

I have a terrible feeling that he is a Brit. (difficult to explain why, but he is).

Rob

May be you have not listened ISIS and Israeli reports in their footages. When I listen so then I immediately realized that these ISIS and Israel both are US and UK army.

Kell McBanned

Some of the footage ive seen of IS in particular show highly professional movement, positioning etc thats usually a hallmark of Western militaries, you can see it when you know what you are looking for.

Rob

Why Trump will move militents in their helicopters from country to country? Absolutely no. These ISIS, Israel are all US and UK army.

Bill Wilson

In other words, those ISIS fighters know what they’re doing so can make decisions then act on it.

Barba_Papa

Wouldn’t be that strange since plenty of Muslims from Europe who have been in European armies have made their way to Syria to join this death cult.

There! A perfectly good explanation.

Do NOT believe anything spouted by SOHR, which is one fat lad working out of a semi-detatched house in Sheffield, funded by those great liars HM Government.

Bill Wilson

Why not? He gets accurate information from several sources, which includes those in the SAA and Syrian government. He always reported on events that the Syrian Government didn’t like to see made public for various reasons. Damascus hasn’t made many press releases about this operation in eastern al-Suwayda since the trapped ISIS units have been putting up a stiff fight. This article just describes some recent small unit actions which go on daily thru out Syria. I’m just glad to see regular SAA units going after ISIS for a change instead of relying upon the elite Tiger forces who have better things to do.

He is a mouthpiece for the Rebellion, always has been. Suleiman set that in stone from the moment he started his ‘not for profit’ NGO. Right from the the off he was anti-Assad and pro-rebellion and seemed to be more concerned in sourcing and publishing claims of regime abuse. If he is ‘not for profit’, where is all that money going that the UK gives him going to???

Admittedly, he has started to report almost objectively and that is more likely because of the way the tide has turned in favour of the SAA. The man is not to be trusted.

gustavo

These cells will be evaporated by the end of the day !! Poor fool terrorists.
