On May 2, ISIS fighters conducted a hit and run attack on a center of the Iraqi Police in the town of Jalawla of the eastern Diyala province, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq. Amaq said that ISIS fighters had killed and injured seven Iraqi policemen and had captured light weapons.
An unnamed Iraqi official of Diyala province told the Iraqi news outlet al-Ghad Press that the Iraqi Police had repelled the ISIS attack and had secured the area. However, the source acknowledged that four Iraqi policemen had been killed and injured in the attack and added that three others are still missing.
Iraqi sources said that ISIS cells had launched their attack on the Iraqi Police center in Jalawla from their hideouts in the Wadi al-Awsaj area, located in the northeastern part of Diyala province.
According to al-Ghad Press, Iraqi security forces deployed additional units around Jalawla and Wadi al-Awsaj immediately after the attack. Local observers believe that these units will launch a security operation against the remaining cells of ISIS in Wadi al-Awsaj in response to the attack and to secure the perimeter of Jalawla.

Low level fighting continues indefinitely even thought the main battles were already fought. A staple of the Arab world.
