ISIS Cells Expand Further Their Presence In “Opposition-Held” Area In Northeastern Hama (Map)

Support SouthFront

ISIS cells have expanded further their presence in the “opposition-held” area in the northeastern Hama countryside. ISIS is now in control of about 13 villages there.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) is too busy with fighting against the Syrian government. So, it has done little to counter the ISIS expansion in the area.

They don’t want to attack their comrades.

Is it possible to make understand people that “position” is almost the same as ISIS ?

You can call me Al

Where did ISIS suddenly pop up from ?.

Marcus Frank Eriksson

Sleeping cells under the ground i think!

@Inc2Get

No, these “Isis fighters” are from the jund al aqsa branch which were with al nusra (HTS) before the escalation of jihadi civil war in idlib. Isis didn’t move or supply but rather that this movement is a response to the HTS seizing full control of idlib. This is good for the SAA as it simplifies everything.

jerry Hamilton

America is moving them about all the time. America has not finished with Syria yet.

You can call me Al

The reason I have this stupid 313 (Fake) is because that will be the new ISIS name allegedly. The Yanks are building up the forces in Al-Tanf ….. so unfortunately I totally agree with you.

I also thinks this has brought up the Israeli / Saudi / UAE / USA alliance against Syria / The Lebanon and Iran + hopefully their allies.

I have to regrettably state, that I have gone from extremely positive (and excited) to sort of a nervously hoping.

Garga

You mean “opposition”, don’t you? Yes, they’re exactly the same, if not more brutal than the ISIS. Noureddin Zinki movement for example, fully supported by the US and as savage as ISIS: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3697770/US-backed-Nour-al-Din-al-Zenki-behead-boy-accused-al-Quds-spy-Assad.html

Is this a plan by the US, whose CIA helps to control Al Nusra, in order to prolong a faux ISIS group in Idlib and so by give the US Military a pseudo excuse to stay in Syria ?

Miguel Redondo

IMHO that is exactly the point !

Miguel Redondo

Florian , remember also the “attack” of ISIS near the Al-Tanf garrison , presumably after crossing without problem the government lines,

FlorianGeyer

It was a miracle :)

pinkie piggy

There are a lot of faces not found yet.

TheSecular

I think the former Jund Al Aqsa group which is now apart of ISIS is responsible for this troll job. Which wouldn’t surprise me.

Hezbollah_Iran

LOL HTS should make deal with their Sunni Daesh brothers, but they don’t doing that, they are fighting each other. So Daesh growing again like cancer in Hama.

Deo Cass

ISIS and HTS made an alliance in 2015. It has a simple explanation. HTS agreed with ISIS to cover their back in those areas, while HTS terrorists are re-deployed elsewhere to face off against Syrian government forces.

VGA

Are the HTS fighting them or did they give some villages to them so they act as a buffer?

PZIVJ

It appears that Jund Al Aqsa group is not to happy with HTS ruling over them. So perhaps they had a sudden influx of money to move north into HTS territory. :DD
