On Septembers 27, several IEDs, which had been planted by ISIS cells, struck two trucks carrying fighters of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the village of al-Hawaij in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq. As a result 20 SDF fighters were killed and injured.
On the same day, ISIS cells carried out a similar attack on a truck of the SDF in the village of al-Sakura in the southern al-Raqqa countryside. 35 US-backed fighters were killed and injured, according to Amaq.
The SDF’s security forces launched several security operations against ISIS cells in the governorates of Raqqa, al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor during the last few weeks. US-backed forces even issued an order to its fighters forbidding them from wearing military uniforms in civilian areas as a protective measure, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
However, these efforts failed to neturlize ISIS cells, which are stepping up their attacks each week. Local observers believe that soon the terrorist group will begin carrying out bigger attacks and may even target US-led coalition service members.

I’ve noticed that in photos from Syria none of our guys are wearing the name tapes or ranks on their uniforms, that’s to prevent these guys from sorting out who’s who beforehand.

If you are referring to our Kurdish allies then there is a point there, in Afghanistan the majority of our losses are from such “green on blue” attacks from defectors. On the other hand you could count US casualties on each middle eastern front this year with your fingers.
Imagine the reaction of the guy forced to work with them when you say that.

So ISIS is attacking their US backed co-horts? More showtime…or maybe this is not ISIS attacking them. Who could be doing this? Whoever..keep it up. This is the kind of thing the US forces will have to look forward to when they have ‘defeated’ ISIS and try to have Kurds keep eastern Syria. There are a few of these ‘Arab insurgency groups’ forming in Raqqah and Deir Ezzor. But the US says this is not happening, ISIS cells…Hmmm. No matter, dead ISIS and Kurds are good no matter who is responsible.
